Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a huge public meeting in Phulbari, Meghalaya. PM Modi thanked people of the state for coming out in large numbers, he said that the enthusiasm and support that people of Meghalaya towards the BJP is overwhelming.

The Prime Minister urged people of the state to give BJP a chance to serve them. He said, “We will ensure good governance guided by the philosophy of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.”

Attacking the Congress party, PM Modi said that Meghalaya is establishing new records in doing corruption and known for taking commission for each work done.
Why is the Congress government in Meghalaya not discussing development? Why are they not telling the people about their development works? They are only busy in blaming 'Modi’, the Prime Minister asked the ruling party.

During his address, PM Modi talked about unraveling tourism opportunities in the state, he remarked that Meghalaya has immense potential for the growth of tourism sector but the state lacks tourists. No efforts were made ever to strengthen the sector.

We will ensure more and more tourists arrive here. This will generate income opportunities for people, he added furthermore.

The Prime Minister pointed out several welfare measures being undertaken by the Centre to transform lives of people. He said that under PMGSY, we provided around Rs 470 crore for construction of 1100 KM of road in the state. Also, he highlighted about the Saubhagya Yojana which would ensure power for all and Ayushman Bharat which would ensure healthcare for all.

Hitting out at the CM, he said that the Chief Minister of Meghalaya is a doctor but look at the condition of health infrastructure in the state. It is in ruins. Women and children have to suffer due to lack of proper health facilities.

Boosting India’s ‘Act East Policy’, PM Modi said, “We want to further strengthen the 'Act East Policy.' This will open up opportunities for people in the state and in the entire Northeast.”
