Bharat scout-guide jamboree-2009: inspiring address by the chief minister

Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi has asked to commission a separate sea-wing of scout-guide in the coastal regions of Gujarat; state government is ready to provide all the possible assistance in this regard. He was addressing the Bharat Scout-Guide Jamboree- 2009 at G.M.D.C ground Ahmedabad today.

Delivering the inspiring key note address, Chief Minister said, "The education institutes from Ambaji to Ummargam should adopt and encourage the scout guide activities. Gujarat inherits the rich legacy of unity and solidarity, which will be experienced by the scout-guides, who are coming from different parts of the country to attend the Jamboree."

The 100 years journey of scout-guide is jaded with humane values and marked with many achievements. Chief Minister asserted the need for undertaking a detailed study about the unique features associated with scout guide activities, which can be taken up by the State Universities. Government is ready to provide full cooperation, said C.M.

The Bharat Scout Guide Jamboree is being organised in Gujarat from 1st Feb- to 7th Feb. In the open jeep, Chief Minister moved across the Jamboree and recognized the dedication, morale values, and selfless services being rendered by the scout guides. The scout guide activities help physical and mental development of the kids; mostly the poor and middle class kids are getting the benefit. Appreciating the activities, Chief Minister stated that it gives an indication to the bright and prosperous future for India.

Chief Guest of the function, renowned lawyer Shri Abhaybhai Bharadwaj lauded the vision of the Chief Minister.

President Bharat Scout Guide, Shri Mansinh Patel recognized that the Jamboree-2009 would enhance the feeling of Vasudheiv Kutumbkam. National Chief Commissioner, Shri S.L. Jain hoped that State Government will provide full cooperation to the scout guide activities in Gujarat.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation today with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.

President Pezeshkian briefed the Prime Minister on the current situation in Iran and shared his perspective on recent developments in the region.

The Prime Minister expressed deep concern about the evolving security situation in the region and reiterated India’s consistent position that all issues must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s priority regarding the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in the region, including in Iran, as also the importance of unhindered transit of energy and goods.

The two leaders agreed to remain in touch.
