PM Modi gives impetus to renewable energy and power conservation
PM Modi calls upon all nations of the world to contribute towards mitigating climate change
India is making rapid strides in mitigating climate change and in harnessing cleaner sources of energy

One of the most famous quotes of Mahatma Gandhi is- the Earth has enough resources for a man’s needs but not for man’s greed.

Today, climate change is affecting the entire world. The entire world came together in Paris in November 2015 for the COP21 Summit to deliberate on the way ahead.

Taking inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi, Shri Modi has always spoken about creating a cleaner and greener planet where the earth’s resources can benefit the development of humanity.

As Chief Minister, one of his pioneering decisions was to set up a climate change department directly under his supervision. An impetus was given to renewable energy and power conservation. These focus areas continued once he took over as Prime Minister. Part of the Central Government’s plan of providing 24/7 power to all is attention to alternative and renewable energy as well as things like LED bulbs.

During the COP21 Summit, the Prime Minister spoke about the idea of climate justice. It called upon all nations of the world to contribute towards mitigating climate change. At the Summit the Prime Minister unveiled the International Solar Alliance, a formidable alliance of all nations blessed where the potential of solar power is immense. His book ‘Convenient Action’ was also released during the summit by President Hollande of France.

India is making rapid strides in mitigating climate change and in harnessing cleaner sources of energy, which will improve the health of our planet and benefit our present and future generations.
