No sooner did BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh declare Shri Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister candidate than the wishes from various leaders of the BJP poured in. The leaders expressed their confidence in the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi and spoke about his pan-India appeal.
Immediately after his name was announced, the members of the Parliamentary Board greeted Shri Modi one by one. Shri Modi touched the feet of Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, who embraced Shri Modi and wished him the very best.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Tweeted, “I congratulate Shri Narendra Modi on being nominated as party's PM candidate. His dynamic leadership would ensure astounding victory for us” and added, “The leadership of Shri Narendra Modi shall take India to great heights which this nation and our citizens deserve.”
Shri Venkaiah Naidu, who was present at the Parliamentary board meeting declared that Shri Modi’s projection as the Prime Minister candidate of the BJP will have an electrifying effect across India and that the BJP would emerge victorious.
Smt. Vasundhara Raje, the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan who currently heads the Rajasthan BJP unit welcomed the decision to nominate Shri Modi as the PM candidate of the BJP. Sharing her views of Twitter she said, “Heartily welcome the decision of BJP Parliamentary Board! Nation awaits a progressive & visionary leader. Congratulations, Modiji! India First!”
Young MP from Rajasthan Shri Dushyant Singh echoed similar sentiments. He affirmed, “I congratulate Shri. Narendra Modiji on being nominated as the PM candidate from the BJP. Let us work together to make mission 272 a reality.”
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Sushil Modi said that the people’s sentiments have been honoured in this decision of nominating Shri Modi. He described Shri Modi as the people’s candidate.
Former Union Minister and BJP leader from Bihar Shri Syed Shahnawaz Hussain posted on his Twitter account, “BJP shall take along all sections of society based on six principles laid down by Shri Narendra Modi.” Shri Hussain added that the BJP’s agenda for the 2014 elections would be development and the youth will take a lead in the agenda.
BJP Delhi Unit President and former Union Minister Shri Vijay Goel shared on Twitter, “Vikas Purush Shri Narendra Modi’s anointment as BJP led NDA's PM candidate has paved the way for historic victory of BJP in coming elections. Shri Modi has a pan-India appeal and is hugely popular among all sections of society, especially the youth. Anointment of Modiji will motivate party cadres and BJP will romp home with thumping majority in all coming Assembly & Lok Sabha polls.” Shri Goel added that the Congress has no leader who can match upto the popularity of Shri Modi.
BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh Shri Anurag Thakur expressed confidence that Shri Narendra Modi will lead India on the path of development, peace and prosperity. He wrote, “Shri Narendra Modi is the decisive leader India needs, the face of development & hope for change of millions! Congratulations!”
Shri Aditya Thackeray, Shiv Sena leader and the son of Shri Uddhav Thackeray declared on Twitter, “Congratulations Narendra Modi ji. It is time for a progressive, development oriented, strong clean govt!” Another Shiv Sena leader and MP in the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra Shri Sanjay Raut said that Shiv Sena completely supports Shri Modi.
Eminent lawyer Shri Ram Jethmalani said that he is happy because the future of the country is now in safe hands. Praise came from former Karnataka Chief Minister and KJP leader Shri BS Yeddyurappa, who stated that the people hope for a vibrant India and that he will support Modiji and the NDA in future.
From Gujarat, wishes came in from former state Health Minister Shri Jay Narayan Vyas who wrote on his Facebook page that the BJP is moving towards victory and that the nation is with Narendrabhai. The BJP’s young MLA from North Gujarat Shri Shankarbhai Chaudhary congratulated the central leadership of the Party and shared that he himself had prayed at a temple to bestow strength to Shri Modi. BJP MLA from Surendranagar district Smt. Varshaben Doshi also expressed pride at the decision. Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Smriti Irani took to Twitter to express her joy on the appointment of Shri Modi as the PM candidate of the BJP.
Noted film actor Shri Anupam Kher congratulated Shri Modi on Twitter. He Tweeted, “From a tea boy in a village to a Prime Ministerial Candidate! What an amazing journey. Congratulations Narendra Modi..) #KucchBhiHoSaktaHai”
