CM to felicitate female sarpanchs of samras village panchayats

• Prizes will be given to 250 female samras village panchayats • 2056 female sarpanchs, members will be felicitated • Incentive grants ranging from Rs. 3-5 lakh will be given to the villages

Chief Minister Narendra Modi will felicitate female sarpanchs of samras village panchayats on Saturday at Gujarat University convention centre in Ahmedabad.

Mr. Modi will give prizes to 250 female samras village panchayats and felicitate 2056 sarpanchs and members of female samras village panchayats of Gujarat.

The ‘first-time-samras' village panchayats having population less than 5000 will be given an incentive grant of rupees three lakh while the first-time-samras village panchayats with the population over 5000 will be given incentive grant of rupees five lakh.

The state government has increased the grant amount by 25% and will also provide facilities like street light and CC road to the villages as incentive.

During the event, there will also be presentations on various development schemes of the state government and an exhibition giving information on the points like village development, education, health, women and child development, biogas and mission mangalam.

PM to inaugurate 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth on 15th January

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) on 15th January 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. Prime Minister will also address the gathering on the occasion.

The Conference will be chaired by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla and will be attended by 61 Speakers and Presiding Officers of 42 Commonwealth countries and 4 semi-autonomous parliaments from different parts of the world.

The Conference will deliberate on a wide range of contemporary parliamentary issues, including the role of Speakers and Presiding Officers in maintaining strong democratic institutions, the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary functioning, the impact of social media on Members of Parliament, innovative strategies to enhance public understanding of Parliament and citizen participation beyond voting, among others.
