ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಶ್ರೀ. ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರು ಬೋಟಡ್ ನಲ್ಲಿಂದು, ಎಸ್.ಎ.ಯು.ಎನ್.ಐ. (ಸೌರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ನರ್ಮದಾ ಅವತರಣ್ ಇರಿಗೇಷನ್) ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಮೊದಲ ಹಂತ (ಲಿಂಕ್ 2)ನ್ನು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಎಸ್.ಎ.ಯು.ಎನ್.ಐ. ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಎರಡನೇ ಹಂತ (ಲಿಂಕ್ 2)ಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಶಂಕುಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು.
ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮುನ್ನ, ಗುಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ಒತ್ತುವ ಮೂಲಕ ನರ್ಮದಾ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಸಾಗರ್ ಕೆರೆಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಪುಷ್ಪ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಭೆ ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ನೀರು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಎಂದು ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಿದರು. ನರ್ಮದೆಯ ದಯೆಯಿಂದ ಸೌರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ತಲುಪುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದ ಅವರು, ಇದು ಹಲವು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳ ಫಲವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ರೈತರಿಗೆ ನೆರವಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
He complimented the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the work done by him on river water conservation, and the Narmada.
ನರ್ಮದಾ ಮತ್ತು ನದಿ ನೀರು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಕುರಿತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಶ್ರೀ. ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಚೌವ್ಹಾಣ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.
ಹನಿ ನೀರಾವರಿಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಾಪಕವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸುವಂತೆ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಅವರು, ಕೃಷಿ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದುಪ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಆದಾಯ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
