Applauding President Putin’s vision for the development of the Russian Far East, PM reiterated India’s commitment as part of its "Act East Policy’ of being a reliable partner of Russia in this regard. He underlined the natural complementarities of India and Russia in the development of Russian Far East.

PM stressed on the importance of greater economic and commercial engagement between the two sides in line with the ‘Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership’. He highlighted the importance of health and pharma sectors as important areas of cooperation that have emerged during the pandemic. He also referred to other potential areas of economic cooperation including diamond, coking coal, steel, timber etc.

Recalling the visit of Chief Ministers of Indian states to EEF-2019, PM extended an invitation to Governors of the 11 regions of Russian Far East to visit India.

Despite the challenges of Covid-19 pandemic, an Indian delegation led by Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri comprising leading Indian oil and gas companies are attending the India-Russia Business dialogue within the framework of EEF. An online meeting between Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Rupani and Governor of Sakha-Yakutia province of Russia was held on 2 September on the sidelines of EEF. Over 50 representatives from reputed Indian companies from various sectors will also be participating in online format.

Prime Minister pays tribute to Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar on her birth anniversary

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has paid tributes to Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar on her birth anniversary.

Shri Modi said that the entire nation remembers Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar with deep respect and reverence for her wisdom, compassion and unwavering commitment to public welfare.

The Prime Minister noted that her life remains an exemplary model of good governance, patriotism and cultural pride. He said that she always led with courage and a strong sense of duty.

The Prime Minister highlighted her unparalleled contribution to ensuring justice and welfare for all, as well as her efforts towards the reconstruction of sacred temples and pilgrimage sites across the country. He remarked that her work further strengthened India’s cultural consciousness.

The Prime Minister stated that Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s dedication to society, culture and nation-building will continue to inspire every generation of the country.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

“लोकमाता अहिल्याबाई होल्कर जी को उनकी जयंती पर कोटि-कोटि नमन! बुद्धिमत्ता, करुणा और जनकल्याण के प्रति अटूट निष्ठा को लेकर पूरा देश उन्हें आदर और सम्मान के साथ स्मरण करता है। उनका जीवन सुशासन, राष्ट्रभक्ति और सांस्कृतिक गौरव का एक उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है। उन्होंने सदैव साहस और कर्तव्यनिष्ठा के साथ नेतृत्व किया। देशभर में पावन मंदिरों और तीर्थस्थलों के पुनर्निर्माण से लेकर सभी के लिए न्याय और कल्याण सुनिश्चित करने में उन्होंने अतुलनीय योगदान दिया। उन्होंने भारत की सांस्कृतिक चेतना को और सशक्त बनाया। समाज, संस्कृति और राष्ट्र निर्माण के प्रति उनका समर्पण भाव देश की हर पीढ़ी को प्रेरित करता रहेगा।”
