પ્રધાનમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદી આવતીકાલે (27.07.2017) સવારે 11.30 વાગે રામેશ્વરમમાં પેરી કરુમ્બુ ખાતે ડો. એપીજે અબ્દુલ કલામ મેમોરિયલનું ઉદ્ગાટન કરશે. ડીઆરડીઓ દ્વારા નિર્મિત આ મેમોરિયલમાં પ્રધાનમંત્રી રાષ્ટ્રધ્વજ ફરકાવશે.

પ્રધાનમંત્રી ડો. અબ્દુલ કલામની પ્રતિમાનું લોકાર્પણ કરશે અને પુષ્પાંજલિ પણ અર્પણ કરશે. પ્રધાનમંત્રી મોદી ડો. કલામના પરિવારના સભ્યો સાથે વાતચીત કરશે.

ત્યારબાદ પ્રધાનમંત્રી એક્ઝિબિશન બસ ‘કલામ સંદેશ વાહિની’ને લીલી ઝંડી આપશે, જે દેશના વિવિધ રાજ્યોમાં પ્રવાસ કરશે અને ભૂતપૂર્વ રાષ્ટ્રપતિ કલામની જન્મજયંતી 15 ઓક્ટોબરના રોજ રાષ્ટ્રપતિ ભવન પહોંચશે.

પછી પ્રધાનમંત્રી મોદી જાહેરસભા માટે મંડપમમાં જશે. તેઓ બ્લૂ રિવોલ્યુશન સ્કીમ હેઠળ લોંગ લાઇનર ટ્રાવેલર્સના લાભાર્થીઓને મંજૂરી પત્રોનું વિતરણ કરશે. તેઓ અયોધ્યાથી રામેશ્વર સુધી નવી એક્સપ્રેસ ટ્રેનને લીલી ઝંડી પણ આપશે (વીડિયો કોન્ફરન્સ દ્વારા). પ્રધાનમંત્રી ગ્રીન રામેશ્વરમ પ્રોજેક્ટની સીનોપ્સિસ જાહેર કરશે. તેઓ રાષ્ટ્રીય રાજમાર્ગ 87 પર 9.5 કિમી લિન્ક રોડ દેશને અર્પણ કરવા તકતીનું અનાવરણ કરશે, જે મુકુન્દરયર ચથિરમ અને અરિચલમુનાઈ વચ્ચે છે. પ્રધાનમંત્રી મોદી જનસભાને સંબોધન કરીને મુલાકાત સંપન્ન કરશે.

કલામ મેમોરિયલની પૃષ્ઠભૂમિ

મેમોરિયલનું નિર્માણ બરોબર એક વર્ષમાં ડીઆરડીઓએ કર્યું છે. સ્થાપત્યની દ્રષ્ટિએ જોઈએ તો આ મેમોરિયલના નિર્માણ માટે કેટલાંક રાષ્ટ્રીય સ્મારકોમાંથી પ્રેરણા મેળવવામાં આવી છે. આગળનું પ્રવેશદ્વાર ઇન્ડિયા ગેટ જેવું છે, જ્યારે બે ગુંબજ રાષ્ટ્રપતિ ભવન જેવા છે.

મેમોરિયલમાં ચાર મેઇન હોલ છે, જે દરેક ડો. કલામના જીવનકવનને સચિત્ર રીતે રજૂ કરે છે. હોલ-1 તેમના બાળપણ અને શિક્ષણના તબક્કા પર, હોલ-2 રાષ્ટ્રપતિ તરીકે કાર્યકાળના દિવસો પર, હોલ-3 તેમના ઇસરો અને ડીઆરડીઓના દિવસો તરીકે તથા હોલ-4 રાષ્ટ્રપતિ તરીકે નિવૃત્ત થયા પછી શિલોંગમાં અંતિમ શ્વાસ લીધા ત્યાં સુધીના સમયગાળા પર કેન્દ્રીત છે.

ડો. કલામની કેટલીક અંગત ચીજવસ્તુઓમાંથી કેટલીકનું પ્રદર્શન કરવા અલગ વિભાગ છે, જેમાં તેમની પ્રસિદ્ધ રુદ્ર વીણા, સુ-30 એમકેઆઇ ફ્લાઇટ દરમિયાન તેમણે ધારણ કરેલ જી-સૂટ અને અનેક એવોર્ડ સામેલ છે. બાર દિવાલોનો ઉપયોગ તૈલીચિત્રો અને પેઇન્ટિંગ્સ માટે થયો છે.

સંપૂર્ણ વિસ્તાર ડો. કલામના વ્યક્તિત્વના શાંતિ અને સંવાદિતાના પાસાંને વ્યક્ત કરવા સુંદર રીતે સુશોભિત કરવામાં આવ્યો છે.

મેમોરિયલ માટે નિર્માણ સામગ્રી અને અન્ય ચીજવસ્તુઓને ભારતના ઘણાં વિસ્તારોમાંથી રામેશ્વર પહોંચાડવામાં આવી હતી. આગળના સુશોભિત અને સુંદર દરવાજા થંજાવુરના છે, પત્થરનું આવરણ જેસલમેર અને આગ્રાના છે, બેંગાલુરના સ્ટોન પિલર્સ છે, કર્ણાટકમાંથી માર્બલ અને હૈદરાબાદ, શાંતિ નિકેતન, કોલકાતા અને ચેન્નાઈમાંથી તૈલીચિત્રો મંગાવવામાં આવ્યા છે.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today extended his warm greetings to the nation on the occasion of Independence Day. He noted that this national festival serves as a poignant reminder of the incredible courage, tireless struggle, and unparalleled dedication of our brave freedom fighters to the motherland, which ensured the end of colonial rule.
