Congress' is a 10 per cent government in Karnataka. No work is done here without any commission: PM Narendra Modi

While addressing a huge public meeting at Davanagere in Karnataka, PM Narendra Modi hit out at the Congress government in the state for its mis-governance and said that they would be defeated in the upcoming state elections. “Every section of society is unhappy with the Congress government in Karnataka”, he said.

“Election after election what are the people doing? They are removing Congress. When Congress goes, the harmful Congress culture also goes”, he remarked.

The public meeting witnessed a large number of farmers as attendees. The Prime Minister said that by focussing on farmers and rural India, the NDA government was taking several steps for the transformation of the agriculture sector. Pointing at various farm and agriculture initiatives, PM Narendra Modi said that it was the NDA government’s dream to double farmers’ income by 2022.

Shri Modi stated, “By focussing on farmers and rural India, the NDA government is taking several steps for the transformation of the agriculture sector. The crop insurance scheme brought by the NDA government is a comprehensive one.” He highlighted how ‘Operation Greens’ announced in this year’s budget would have a positive impact on agriculture sector and how value addition to crops would bring more prosperity to farmers.

Lashing out at the Congress he PM questioned their misrule for 48 years and urged people to compare it to the 48 months of the NDA. “One family ruled India for 48 years. One tea seller has served for almost 48 months. They grew up in riches so they never cared for the poor. I have seen poverty, which is why I am devoting all my time for the welfare of the poor and the farmers”, he said.

PM Modi took a jibe at Chief Minister Mr. Siddaramaiah and remarked that more than Siddaramaiah, it was ‘Seedha Rupaiya’ that drove the functioning of current Karnataka government. “More than Mr. Siddaramaiah, it is 'Seedha Rupaiyya' that drives the working of the Government in Karnataka. Everything seems to be happening at a price here in Karnataka. The state needs freedom from such corruption”, said Shri Modi.

Shri Modi alleged that Congress’ was a 10 per cent government in Karnataka and no work could be done without commission and bribery. Moreover, he questioned the state government for not being able to utilise the funds which the Centre had allocated for welfare of people. He said, “Congress government in Karnataka is insensitive towards healthcare facilities for people in the state. Centre sends funds, but why does it not spend on improving health infrastructure of the state.”

At the event, he also extended birthday greetings to Shri B S Yeddurappa and urged people to form a BJP Government under his leadership in the upcoming elections.
