Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated building of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, dedicated 400KV Lucknow-Kanpur D/C transmission line and distributed sanction letters to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Lucknow.

Speaking at the event, Shri Modi spoke at length about connecting India’s youth to latest technology. He said, “Our youth can think about start ups and innovation in the health sector, particularly in healthcare equipment.”

The PM congratulated the UP government for ensuring electricity in all districts. He added, “Power and energy matter immensely in the development journey of a nation. Today solar energy is gaining popularity in India.” 

The PM also spoke at length about the implementation of GST on July 1st and said that it demonstrated the strength of democracy. He said, “Credit for implementation of GST goes to 125 crore people of India.”

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received a telephone call today from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, H.E. Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam..

The two leaders reviewed progress in the wide-ranging bilateral cooperation since their last meeting in Varanasi in September 2025 with an emphasis on development partnership, capacity building and people-to-people exchanges.

They reaffirmed their shared commitment to further advancing the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between India and Mauritius for the benefit of the two peoples.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s continued support for Mauritius’ development priorities in line with Vision MAHASAGAR, India’s Neighbourhood First policy and shared commitment to the Global South.

Both leaders agreed to continue working closely to achieve the shared objectives of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed that he looked forward to welcoming him in Delhi for the AI Impact Summit next week.
