પ્રધાનમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ આજે 17મી લોકસભાનાં પ્રથમ સત્ર અગાઉ તમામ સાંસદોને આવકાર આપ્યો હતો.
આ સત્ર શરૂ થયા અગાઉ મીડિયા નિવેદનમાં પ્રધાનમંત્રીએ કહ્યું હતું કે, “2019ની લોકસભાની ચૂંટણી પછી આજે પ્રથમ સત્ર શરૂ થઈ રહ્યું છે. હું તમામ નવા સાંસદોને આવકારુ છું. તેમની સાથે નવી આશાઓ, નવી આકાંક્ષાઓ અને સેવા માટેની નવી દૃઢતાનો લાભ મળશે.”
પ્રધાનમંત્રીએ 17મી લોકસભામાં મહિલા સંસદોની સંખ્યામાં વધારો થવા બદલ ખુશી વ્યક્ત કરી હતી. તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, જ્યારે સંસદમાં કામગીરી અસરકારક રીતે થાય છે, ત્યારે એ લોકોની આંકાક્ષાઓ પૂર્ણ કરવા સક્ષમ બને છે.
પ્રધાનમંત્રીએ સંસદીય લોકશાહીમાં વિપક્ષનાં મહત્ત્વ પર પણ ભાર મૂક્યો હતો. તેમણે આશા વ્યક્ત કરી હતી કે, ગૃહની કાર્યવાહીમાં વિપક્ષ સક્રિય ભૂમિકા ભજવશે અને સહભાગી થશે. તેમણે ઉમેર્યું હતું કે, વિપક્ષને તેમનાં સાંસદોની સંખ્યાને લઈને ચિંતા કરવાની જરૂર નથી.
પ્રધાનમંત્રીએ ઉમેર્યું હતું કે, “જ્યારે આપણે સંસદમાં આવીએ, ત્યારે પક્ષ અને વિપક્ષને ભૂલી જવું જોઈએ. આપણે દેશનાં વ્યાપક હિતમાં કામ કરવા ‘નિષ્પક્ષ રીતે કામ કરવાનો’ વિચાર કરવો જોઈએ.”
