Shri Modi thanked Lata Mangeshkar ji for giving him the honour to inaugurate the hospital. Shri Narendra Modi touched upon the fact on how the first part of the hospital was inaugurated by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and now, he has been given the honour to inaugurate the hospital. Shri Modi also narrated how Lata Mangeshkar ji wrote such a touching letter to him to come for the inauguration.
During his speech, Shri Modi also shared his vision on health initiatives that can be undertaken in the country. He also touched upon the concept of health tourism and rued the fact that talented Indian doctors migrate to the US to earn more money.
He emphasized on the fact that through our health sector and hospitality we can make a place on the world map. He also reminded everyone of how a Pakistani girl was cured in a hospital in Bangalore and it touched so many hearts.
Shri Modi also touched upon various health initiatives undertaken by his government in Gujarat. He told about how his government was successful in bringing down the level of air pollution in Ahmedabad by introducing CNG. He also told about how his government was successful in bringing down the level of fluoride in drinking water in Gujarat. He also reminded about the vision of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on interlinking the rivers. Speaking on the issue, he told how we can make clean water available for all if we are successful in interlinking the rivers and hence, reducing many health issues.
Shri Modi also touched upon various other health issues like infant mortality rate, deaths at the time of pregnancy & other issues and told how we can deal with all these issues if we properly plan our skill development initiatives and train as many medical practitioners as possible.
He also touched upon the issue of ancient medical science including the re-birth of Lord Ganesha and the birth of Karna in Mahabharata.
Elaborating further on our ancient sciences and values, Shri Modi told that Kings, Emperors did not make this nation. It was Rishis, Munis, Gyanis, Teachers and scholars who have made this nation. He also told how the Raj Shakti in a country is always below the Samaj Shakti. “Raj Shakti humesha samaj Shakti se neecherahi hai aur uske kaaran jaha sarkaare innhi pahuch paati waha samaj apne balboote pahuch ke dikhata hai. Ye desh tabhi aage badh sakta hai jab hum samaj ki Shakti ko sweekarein”, said Shri Modi.
Shri Modi also praised the Mangeshkar Family on the occasion and said that it is not a small thing that a family completely dedicated to Music dedicated a super specialty hospital in remembrance of its father.
