প্রধানমন্ত্রী শ্রী নরেন্দ্রমোদী রবিবার ঘোঘা এবং দহেজ-এর মধ্যে রোল-অন, রোল-অফ (রোরো) ফেরি সার্ভিসের প্রথমপর্যায়ের উদ্বোধন করেন। এর ফলে সৌরাষ্ট্রের ঘোঘা এবং দক্ষিণ গুজরাটের দহেজ-এর মধ্যেযাতায়াতের সময় উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে হ্রাস পাবে। এই দুটি স্হানের মধ্যে সড়কযোগে পৌঁছতেসময় লাগতো ৭ থেকে ৮ ঘন্টার মতো। কিন্তু রোরো ফেরি সার্ভিসের প্রথম পর্যায়েরউদ্বোধনের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে নির্দিষ্ট গন্তব্যে পৌঁছতে সময় লাগবে মাত্র এক ঘন্টার কিছুবেশি। ফেরি সার্ভিসের প্রথম পর্যায়ে যাত্রী চলাচলের প্রসার ঘটবে। কিন্তু ফেরিসার্ভিসটি পুরোপুরি চালু হয়ে গেলে একই সঙ্গে যাত্রী ও যান পারাপার করতে পারবে।

এদিনপ্রধানমন্ত্রী ভাবনগর জেলা সমবায় দুধ উৎপাদন সমিতির সর্বোত্তম পশুখাদ্যপ্রকল্পটিরও আনুষ্ঠানিক উদ্বোধন করেন।

এইউপলক্ষে এক বিশাল সমাবেশে ভাষণদানকালে শ্রী মোদী বলেন, গুজরাটের নববর্ষেরঅভিনন্দনবার্তা নিয়ে তিনি আজ সেখানে সশরীরে উপস্হিত থাকতে পেরে বিশেষভাবে আনন্দিত।ঘোঘা এবং দহেজ-এর মধ্যে নতুন ফেরি সার্ভিস চালু হওয়ার ঘটনাকে সমগ্র দেশের পক্ষেখুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বলে বর্ণনা করেন তিনি। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর মতে গুজরাটের অধিবাসীদেরজন্য তাঁর এক স্বপ্নের প্রকল্পের আজ বাস্তবায়ন ঘটলো। এই ধরনের ফেরি সার্ভিস যে এইপ্রথম চালু হচ্ছে এ কথারও উল্লেখ করেন তিনি।

প্রধানমন্ত্রীবলেন, মানব সভ্যতার ইতিহাসে নদ-নদী এবং নৌ-বাণিজ্যের গুরুত্বের কথা বিধৃত রয়েছে। গুজরাটহল লোথালদের পীঠস্হান। ইতিহাসের এই বিশিষ্টতাকে আমরা কখনই বিস্মৃত হতে পারি না।

শ্রীমোদী বলেন, আজকের এই ঘটনা বা কর্মসূচি আমাদের অতীত গৌরবকে আবার নতুন করে জীবনদানকরল, সৌরাষ্ট্রের সঙ্গে যুক্ত হল দক্ষিণ গুজরাট। এই দুটি অঞ্চলের জনসাধারণকে ঘনঘনযাতায়াত করতে হয়। তাই চালু হওয়া এই নতুন ফেরি সার্ভিসটি জ্বালানি সাশ্রয়েরপাশাপাশি সময়েরও সাশ্রয় ঘটাবে।

গুজরাটেরসার্বিক উন্নয়নে গত তিন বছরে যে বিশেষ নজর ও গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে একথাও প্রসঙ্গততুলে ধরেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। তিনি বলেন, গুজরাটে রয়েছে এক সুবিস্তৃত উপকূলরেখা। তাইএর সুযোগ-সুবিধাগুলিকেও আমাদের কাজে লাগানো প্রয়োজন। এই বিষয়টিকে সামনে রেখে উপকূলঅঞ্চলের পরিকাঠামোর প্রসারে বেশকিছু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। এইধরনের ফেরি সার্ভিস শুধুমাত্র একটি রুটের মধ্যেই সীমাবদ্ধ থাকবে না বলে ঘোষণা করেনপ্রধানমন্ত্রী। তিনি বলেন, ফেরি সার্ভিসের মাধ্যমে যুক্ত করা হবে অন্যান্য স্হান ওঅঞ্চলগুলিকেও। পরিবহণ ক্ষেত্রকে সুসংবদ্ধ এবং অত্যাধুনিক করে তোলা যে কেন্দ্রীয়সরকারের এক বিশেষ লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য, এ কথাও প্রকাশ করেন তিনি।

ঘোঘাথেকে দহেজ পর্যন্ত চালু হওয়া প্রথম ফেরি সার্ভিসটিতে সফর করেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী।সফরকালে জাহাজ ও ফেরি সার্ভিসের খুঁটিনাটি সম্পর্কে অবহিত করা হয় তাঁকে। জাহাজেরআরোহী কয়েকজন দিব্যাঙ্গ শিশুর সঙ্গেও আলাপচারিতায় মেতে ওঠেন শ্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী।

দহেজ-এআয়োজিত এক সমাবেশে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের চিন্তাভাবনা ওদৃষ্টিভঙ্গীর মূলে রয়েছে ‘ সমৃদ্ধিরলক্ষ্যে বন্দরোন্নয়ন ’ । কারণ উপযুক্ত সংযোগ ও যোগাযোগব্যবস্হা ছাড়া জাতির অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের গতি শ্লথ বা মন্থর হয়ে পড়তে বাধ্য। তাইবন্দরের পরিকাঠামো প্রসারের ওপর বিশেষ দৃষ্টি দিয়েছে তাঁর সরকার।

নীল অর্থনীতির ওপর-ও যে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার বিশেষ গুরুত্ব আরোপকরেছে এ কথাও প্রসঙ্গত উল্লেখ করেন তিনি। তাঁর মতে, এক নতুন ভারত গড়ে তোলারস্বপ্নকে সফল করে তুলতে নীল অর্থনীতির অপরিহার্যতা অনস্বীকার্য।

Prime Minister’s Departure Statement ahead of his visit to Seychelles
June 27, 2026

At the invitation of my friend, H.E. Dr. Patrick Herminie, President of the Republic of Seychelles, I will undertake a State Visit to Seychelles from 27-29 June 2026 to participate in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the National Day of Seychelles as the Guest of Honour.

Seychelles is a valued maritime neighbour and a key partner in our Vision MAHASAGAR and our shared commitment to the Global South. This year, we also mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations which are rooted in mutual trust, shared democratic values, respect for diversity and deep affinity between our peoples.

Building on the successful State visit of President Herminie to India in February 2026, I look forward to our discussions aimed at further strengthening our enduring friendship. Together, we will work to advance the progress of our peoples, and promote security and prosperity in the Indian Ocean region.

During the visit, I will have the honour of becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to address the National Assembly of Seychelles. This historic opportunity reflects the strong democratic values and parliamentary traditions that bind our two nations.

I also look forward to interacting with the vibrant Indian community in Seychelles, who have been nurturing the special friendship between India and Seychelles for generations, and serving as a living bridge between our two nations.

I am confident that my visit will further deepen the longstanding bonds between the two countries, enhance maritime cooperation in the Indian Ocean region, and advance our shared vision of a secure, peaceful and prosperous Indian Ocean region.
