PM Modi addresses Public Meeting at Rudrapur, Uttarakhand

Be it connectivity, tourism or industrial development, today Uttarakhand is scripting a new chapter in every field: PM Modi
Those doubting the capability of our forces in combating terror must answer the people: PM Modi in Rudrapur
Our defence procurements were marred for years by systematic delays and lack of transparency because of ‘Congress Culture’ of corruption: PM Modi

Sounding the poll bugle in Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a major rally in Rudrapur in his second rally for the day after a similar address in Meerut earlier today.

Severly criticizing the ‘Congress Culture’ that significantly hindered the progress of Uttarakhand and the country at large with its numerous scams and corrupt activities, PM Modi contrasted this with the current strides of progress taking place in the state under the BJP government, both at the state and the Centre and said, “It is only under the BJP that the state is witnessing rapid strides in all-round development. Be it connectivity, tourism or industrial development, today Uttarakhand is scripting a new chapter in every field.”

PM Modi also came down heavily on those that questioned the valour and counter-terror abilities of the Indian armed forces, saying, “Those doubting the capability of our forces in combating terror must answer the people. Are we a country that can even tolerate abuses hurled at its Chief of Armed Forces? Shouldn’t we expect accountability from such people for such statements? From this holy land of Uttarakhand, I want to warn India’s enemies and our opponents that we are not scared of anyone, come what may. Being fearful and suspicious is the culture of the Congress and its allies.”

Prime Minister Modi then described the way in which decades of Congress rule had compromised India’s defence abilities and national security. He said, “Our defence procurements were marred by systematic delays and lack of transparency because of ‘Congress Culture’ of corruption. Even when the NDA government led by Atal Ji began the process of procuring Rafale aircrafts, the subsequent Congress governments did not complete those procurements for a decade. The same fate came to the issue of OROP, both of which were resolved after the BJP government came to power.”

On the issue of poverty elimination, PM Modi not only attacked the Congress establishment for not doing enough to eliminate poverty from India even after ruling for several decades but also asserted that India’s poor today believed that India will become poverty-free if it becomes ‘Congress-free’ and that Congress party was the root cause of rampant poverty in India.
