Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed two major public meetings in Jalgaon and Sakoli in Maharashtra today. Addressing his first public meeting in Jalgaon before the Maharashtra assembly polls, PM Modi started off in Marathi. PM Modi thanked the people of Maharashtra for their support during the Lok Sabha elections. He said, “the New India has an unprecedented place in the world today, and the reason behind this is 130 crore people of the country."

All the countries of the world have supported India, he told a huge public gathering in Jalgaon, adding: “New India is not just securing it's present but it is also progressing towards its future.”

Highlighting about the BJP led NDA government’s decision on abrogating article 370 from J&K, PM Modi said, "On August 5, we did something that people thought was impossible. We removed Article 370 so that the people of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh could progress along with the rest of the country." He said that Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh was not just a piece of land for us, but was India's crown.

Questioning the opposition parties’ stand on article 370, PM Modi said, “"From the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji, I challenge the opposition to make their stand clear and announce if they support the decision taken by the government to remove Article 35 A and Article 370.”

Hailing the people of India, PM Modi asserted, “It is your trust that is continuously inspiring us and giving us the strength to take strong & big decisions. It is because of your trust that we are able to take strong steps, steps that people were hesitant and scared to take earlier.”

“During the Lok Sabha elections, we promised you that soon after the formation of the government, the benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi will be extended to every farmer.

Today, in Maharashtra the financial aid is being transferred directly to their bank accounts,” remarked PM Modi. Also, the Prime Minister spoke about the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Mandhan Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Vyapari Mandhan Yojana.

PM Modi pledged to connect every house in the entire country including Maharashtra with water. "Three and a half lakh crore rupees will be spent on the Jal Jeevan Mission to fulfill this resolution," he added furthermore.

"Today, every policy, every strategy, is for the welfare of the nation from public welfare, nation-building through public campaign. Whether the poor's home and toilets are built, every household has an electricity connection, the poor get free treatment. Poor and common people are at the center of all these schemes," said PM Modi during his election rally in Sakoli.
