Beautiful glimpses of overflowing Sardar Sarovar Dam

Due to the heavy rains in the catchment area of Narmada Dam as well as release of 1.5 lakh cusecs water yesterday and 2.5 lakh cusecs water today, water level in the Sardar Sarovar Dam at Kevadia Colony in Narmada district crossed the maximum height of 121.92 metres at 10:15 am. This is the first time that the dam has overflowed this monsoon.

According to information given by the engineer Shri M.T. Mathew at the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam, the water level in the Sardar Sarovar Dam at 11 am on 18th July 2013 was 122.03 metres. This level rose to 122.53 metres at 3 pm and it is expected to reach 123 metres by late evening.
