The Modi government has taken a notable initiative to safeguard and preserve the country's cultural heritage sites. The transformations in these sites offer a visual treat and clearly demonstrate their evolution from the past to the present. These transitions result from the Prime Minister's constant endeavours, or "Prayas," to preserve and celebrate India's rich spiritual and cultural legacy. Let us take a look..

I. Revitalising Sacred Temples

Somnath Temple, Gujarat

The Somnath Temple, one of the most revered Jyotirlingas, has stood the test of time, even after facing centuries of destruction from invaders. The temple perfectly represents India's resilience and its people's unbreakable spirit. The reconstruction of the Old Somnath temple precinct enhanced the overall pilgrimage experience, which now blends traditional values with modern amenities. It is pertinent to note that PM Modi's personal involvement as the chairman of the Shree Somnath Trust played a crucial role in realizing these initiatives.

The Kashi Vishwanath Temple is located in Varanasi, one of the oldest cities in the world, and is considered a center of devotion to Sanatan culture. In the past, the alleys leading up to the Joytirlinga were dirty and filled with sewage, making it difficult for pilgrims to reach the temple after taking a dip in the holy Ganga. However, today, the Temple has undergone a significant transformation thanks to the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project.
