Leading the BJP charge, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a public meeting in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi started his address by highlighting BJP’s stance on UP. “The people of this area have decided to vote for the one who will take UP to new heights of development, will keep UP riot-free, keep our sisters and daughters free from fear and sends criminals to jail,” he said.

PM Modi spoke on the BJP’s resolution and vision for UP. “The BJP government in UP is necessary for the work that the double engine government is doing”. Speaking further on the situation of the pandemic, PM Modi added, “For the poor to get continuous free ration during the pandemic, for the poor to not face any problem in getting the free corona vaccine, the BJP government is an absolute necessity.”

PM Modi spoke about the BJP’s commitment for welfare of sugarcane farmers. He said, “Yogi Ji's government has given more money to sugarcane farmers than they got in 10 years of previous governments”. PM Modi talked about safeguarding sugarcane farmers from market instabilities by diversifying the use of sugarcane in ethanol production.

On UP and the future of its industries, PM Modi said, “The BJP government is trying to increase the strength of every district, every region of UP, recognizing its specialty. With this thinking, One District, One Product scheme has been started.”

Hitting out at the opposition, PM Modi said, “I am seeing these days that some “Pariwarwaad” people are constantly making hollow promises to the public. Do not fall into their traps of hollowness. These people can never think about the development of UP, about the poor. These people neither see nor understand the pain of the poor”. PM Modi also iterated how previous governments failed on the promise of delivering only 500 houses in Saharanpur while the current government has sanctioned 31,000 houses already.

It is our government which has declared 26th December as Veer Bal Diwas in the memory of Veer Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji,” the PM remarked.
