The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today welcomed Village Pradhans from the Varanasi Parliamentary Constituency at his residence in New Delhi. This is the second such group to meet the Prime Minister.

During the interaction, the Prime Minister encouraged the Pradhans to work towards educating every girl child, and promoting Swacchta in their respective villages. He emphasized that there should be no discrimination between boys and girls. He said Swachhta, or cleanliness, is the key to prosperity.

The Prime Minister urged each Pradhan to resolve to undertake specific development initiatives during his or her tenure, which would result in a lasting legacy.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today congratulated Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on becoming the longest continuously serving Prime Minister in Italy's postwar history.

The Prime Minister stated that this milestone is a reflection of the trust and confidence of the Italian people in her leadership. He further noted that her friendship has been instrumental in strengthening the India-Italy Special Strategic Partnership, adding that he looks forward to continuing their close cooperation to build a prosperous future for the people of both countries. He extended his best wishes for her continued success in the years ahead.
