Prime Minister Modi today visited Kerala to take a stock of the situation arising after major fire at Paravur Puttingal Temple. He held extensive talks with Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and other officials. The PM assured full assistance from the Centre for relief work. 

The PM said that the incident was unfortunate and heart rending. He extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.

In an interview with Punjab Kesari, Jag Bani, Hind Samachar, and Navodaya Times, Prime Minister Modi discussed the Lok Sabha elections and the country's development. On the issue of farmers, he stated that farmers are our 'Annadatas.' He said that his government has undertaken work in the agricultural sector that no previous government had done. Regarding the opposition, he remarked that the INDI alliance lacks any plan or vision for the country's development and is therefore engaged in nonsensical rhetoric.
