Being a ‘Chowkidar’ is a spirit to work towards the betterment of society: PM Modi
Several key decisions have been taken in the last five years to enhance ease of living for all our people: Prime Minister Modi
First-time voters must be encouraged to vote in the coming elections: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with millions of people and ‘Chowkidars’ across the country through video conferencing as part of the ‘MainBhiChowkidar’ programme. Speaking at the event, PM Modi said that a ‘Chowkidar’ is not a system or a uniformed personnel, being a ‘Chowkidar’ means imbibing a spirit to work for the betterment of this country in one’s actions.

Prime Minister Modi further described several key decisions and initiatives of his government which have had a transformative impact in improving the lives of all people. He said, “All our achievements over the past five years has been possible because of Jan Bhagidari. The strength of this Jan Bhagidari or people’s participation can be seen with the success of our historic initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Ujjwala Yojana and Ayushman Bharat.”

Highlighting the strongly anti-corruption approach of his government, PM Modi said, “During the last five years, our anti-corruption efforts have been channelised to ensure that no corrupt person goes unpunished. Due to these efforts, the corrupt are now facing the heat. We have created an environment in which honest taxpayers are being rewarded and the ones who dodge the system are brought to justice.”

Speaking at length about India’s renewed space capabilities with the recent Mission Shakti, Prime Minister Modi said, “Our scientists have achieved a great feat with the success of Mission Shakti. Only three countries had achieved this capability until now. We have become the fourth country in the world to have achieved this prized ability in the space. The Mission Shakti has greatly enhanced the repute of our country in the world.”

Lashing out at the Congress for neglecting the country’s progress for decades with its corrupt governance and consistent lying over every issue, PM Modi said, “The Congress’ lies are seasonal. During the Delhi Assembly elections, they started the issue of ‘growing intolerance’ in the country. Similarly, during the Bihar Assembly elections, they spearheaded a false campaign that Modi will take back reservations once he comes to power. This was followed by the ‘Award-Wapasi’ campaign. There were many other such false campaigns by the Congress and its ecosystem which were short-lived and only meant to spread fear and misinformation among the people.”
