Time has come for end of decades of BJD misrule in Odisha: PM Modi in Odisha

BJP was born from the Indian ethos, from its indegenous cultural heritage and principles: PM Modi in Odisha
The BJD government has long neglected the people’s interests and so the people are eager to get rid of its lax governance: PM Modi
Both the Congress and BJD see poor as their votebank and gain political mileage if the poor remains poor: Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed two major public meetings in Sundargarh and Sonepur in Odisha today.

Extending his wishes to the people on the beginning of ‘Navratri’ today, PM Modi said, “Today is a special day because today is also the 39th year of foundation of the BJP. Our party was carved out from the millions of aspirations of Indians and still exists on the hardwork of its karyakarta, not on ‘paisa’ or ‘parivar.’ The BJP was not created out of foreign ideologies or muscular power or money power. BJP was born from India’s thoughts, from the Indian cultural thought. That is why we say that BJP is a party with a difference.”

Describing how the 21st century ‘New India’ is brimming with young, aspirational minds, Prime Minister Modi said, “Our party with its motto ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’ is providing equitable opportunities for progress to everyone and that is what every government must do. No country in this century can afford politics that divides people on the basis of caste, religion or geography. This is what characterises our ‘New India’ as it is not only rapidly growing but also strongly responding to any attacks made against it. Everybody has seen that India hits its enemies where it hurts them the most.”

Taking on the BJD state government that has been ruling Odisha for decades, PM Modi said, “The BJD government has neglected the interests of the people of Odisha for a long time now and it is clear that the people want to get rid of such a government. It is unfortunate that the BJD has not implemented major schemes started by the Centre over political differences, while completely overriding the welfare of the people. The decision to not implement Ayushman Bharat has affected millions of poor people who could otherwise be given medical treatments for free, similarly, the government here has also betrayed its farmers by not giving them one and half times MSP for their produce which the Central government gives to farmers across the country.”

Further lashing out at the Congress party for its false promises on poverty elimination, Prime Minister Modi said, “Both the Congress and the BJD see the poor as their votebank and so they get political capital if poor remain poor forever. This is why such a culturally rich state of Odisha has been lacking behind in development for so many years now. The Congress divided the country on the basis of developing some regions while other regions were left out, which created the conditions for naxals and maoists to gain ground. The Congress leaders love to make tall promises of eliminating poverty since decades but never take any genuine steps to reduce and eliminate poverty. This is why the people of Odisha and the country do not trust the policies or the leaders of such parties anymore.”

The scale of victory in West Bengal will directly translate into relief and better governance for its people: PM Modi to BJP karyakartas

PM Modi interacted with BJP karyakartas from across West Bengal under the ‘Mera Booth, Sabse Mazboot’ initiative, extending his best wishes for the Bengali New Year to all citizens of the state.

During the interaction, the PM reflected on his recent visits across various parts of West Bengal, highlighting the remarkable enthusiasm, energy and growing support for the BJP among the people. He credited this momentum to the tireless efforts and dedication of booth-level karyakartas.

The PM appreciated the positive response to the BJP’s Sankalp Patra (manifesto), stating that citizens across the state have described it as practical, implementable, and focused on holistic development and welfare.

During the interaction, several karyakartas shared their on-the-ground experiences, highlighting key concerns among the people, including safety, employment, corruption, political violence, and governance challenges. Women karyakartas spoke about concerns over security and dignity, while youth-related issues such as migration due to lack of opportunities were also raised.

PM Modi acknowledged these concerns and emphasised the need for continuous engagement with citizens at the grassroots level. He urged karyakartas to strengthen booth-level organisation through regular outreach and small group meetings, actively connect with women, youth, farmers and first-time voters , clearly communicate the benefits and vision outlined by the BJP, ensure transparency, development and safety, use social media and digital tools effectively to amplify facts and counter misinformation.
He also stressed the importance of documenting and communicating local issues, ensuring that the voices of the people are consistently heard and represented.

The PM constantly reiterated that booth-level strength is the foundation of electoral success, stating that “Booth jeeta, toh chunav jeeta.” He expressed confidence that the growing trust of the people in BJP presents a significant opportunity to bring transformation in West Bengal.

Concluding the interaction, PM Modi said that the scale of victory in West Bengal will directly translate into relief and better governance for its people. He encouraged all karyakartas to work with renewed energy, expand outreach, and ensure that every household becomes a partner in this journey of development.
