Shri Modi asks PM not to handover Sir Creek to Pakistan, says it will compromise India’s interests and security

 

As the campaign for the 2012 Gujarat elections enters its final stages, Shri Narendra Modi addressed public meetings in Mehsana city and Naroda, Vastral, Bapunagar in Ahmedabad City on Wednesday 12th December 2012. The Chief Minster spoke of how the development in Gujarat over the past decade has touched the lives of the common people and spoke about his letter to the Prime Minister as a concerned and responsible citizen of Gujarat in which he asked him not to hand over Sir Creek to Pakistan as is being expected.

The Chief Minister affirmed that the bond between him and the people of Gujarat is unbreakable and that over the last decade the people of Gujarat know him very well and he is well versed with the problems in the lives of the people.He described the Congress as a party without people or issues in this coming election and one that has only indulged in negative politics & thrown roadblocks in the development of Gujarat.

Shri Modi affirmed that it is the people of Gujarat who want answers from the Delhi government and shared that every year Gujarat contributes Rs. 60,000 crores to Delhi and what it gets back is far lesser. He said, “Is Gujarat a beggar state? Are we standing in front of Delhi with a begging bowl? We are moving ahead with our hardwork and working towards the development of the nation. Gujarat will not accept the strong-arm tactics of Delhi!”

He pointed out that Mrs. Sonia Gandhi came to South Gujarat but instead talking about development, she said the people must support her as her mother-in-law also visited the region many years ago. He asked why Mrs. Sonia Gandhi did not say a word on price rise. Shri Modi talked about how the Kankaria Lake has changed and said that while the people can see the development, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi cannot.

Shri Modi stated that the Gujarat Government is one that is working for the poor. He gave the example of the BRTS, which has been a major success story in providing quick and effective transport to the people and the 108 service, that has saved several lives of people. He said that the Congress has its eyes on Gujarat due to the state’s coffers and added that he is sitting in Gandhinagar as a Chowkidar, who will not allow the state’s coffers to go into any Hands.

The Chief Minister talked about the success of the Sujalam Sufalam Yojana in bringing water to North Gujarat and he said that this where he belongs and this where he imbibed his values.

 

Do not handover Sir Creek to Pakistan, Shri Modi urges PM

Shri Modi strongly urged the Prime Minister not hand over Sir Creek to Pakistan, as it will be a threat to India’s security and hurt India’s interests. He pointed that 15th December is Sardar Patel’s Punya Tithi and asked the Prime Minister not to commit this sin on that day.
