"Speaks to Union Defense Minister, expresses indignation for the inhuman act by Pakistan"

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has expressed indignation over the abduction of Saurashtra fishermen along with their boats by Pakistani marine force from near the Porbandar seacoast and for the killing of one fisherman by firing on them. Mr. Modi today spoke to the Union Defense Minister A. K. Antony and demanded that Government of India take serious note of the matter and should initiate immediate investigation and steps against this inhuman act.

He said the instances of such abduction and inhuman treatment towards Gujarat fishermen by the Pakistan marine force happen repeatedly, and hence it is not appropriate for the government of India to merely remain a mute spectator.
