Describing the 2014 Haryana Vidhan Sabha elections as a crucial election that will determine the future of Haryana, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi urged the people of Haryana to elect a BJP government with a full majority. He was speaking at rallies in Jagadhri, Mahendragarh, Rohtak and Sonipat.
Contrasting the ethos and vision of the BJP with that of the other parties that have ruled Haryana Shri Modi said, “For years Haryana has been ruled by a few families who divided everything among them. Do you want such Governments to whom you have to bow to or do you want a Government that comes to your doorstep and works for you?” Stressing upon the need to free Haryana from such family rule the Prime Minister affirmed, “Free Haryana from such family rule. No good will happen for the youth till this goes on.”
Shri Modi shared the BJP’s vision of creating a Skilled Haryana where youth get jobs and where both agriculture and industrial sectors flourish.
He came down heavily on the corruption of the Congress government, saying that the people gave them a mandate for 10 years but all they did was to give whatever Delhi wanted. “To appease their leaders (in Delhi), farmer land was taken away,” avowed the Prime Minister.
Speaking at a Rally in Rohtak, the home turf of Haryana CM Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the Prime Minister took on the CM for the increasing atrocities of Dalits and the attacks on Dalit women. He pointed, “For years the voice of the CM and his family has mattered here but what is the condition here? Is there any law and order? There were atrocities on Dalits but did the perpetrators go to jail?” He assured the people that the BJP stands for the rights and interests of the poor, Dalits and the marginalised.
