Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation today with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.

President Pezeshkian briefed the Prime Minister on the current situation in Iran and shared his perspective on recent developments in the region.

The Prime Minister expressed deep concern about the evolving security situation in the region and reiterated India’s consistent position that all issues must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s priority regarding the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in the region, including in Iran, as also the importance of unhindered transit of energy and goods.

The two leaders agreed to remain in touch.

PM Modi reiterates commitment to the agricultural sector

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today emphasized that our farmer brothers and sisters are the pillars of the country's food security, nutrition, and prosperity, and the government is leaving no stone unturned to make their lives easier. He noted that initiatives like PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi and Fasal Bima Yojana are securing their income and empowering agriculture, while the PM-KUSUM scheme provides accessible solar energy, thereby reducing farming expenditures.

Shri Modi pointed out that the Kisan Credit Card is proving highly beneficial in providing easy, low-interest loans to farmers, cattle rearers, and fishermen, while the 'from seed to market' initiative is effectively ensuring fair prices for their crops.

The Prime Minister stated that the welfare of farmers is among the top priorities, which is why there has been a continuous emphasis on providing them with modern agricultural facilities. He highlighted that campaigns related to drones, soil health cards, and natural fertilizers are actively helping farmers increase their crop productivity.

In a series of posts, the Prime Minister shared on X:

"हमारे किसान भाई-बहन देश की अन्न सुरक्षा, पोषण और समृद्धि के आधारस्तंभ हैं। उनके जीवन को अधिक से अधिक आसान बनाने के लिए हमारी सरकार कोई कोर-कसर नहीं छोड़ रही है। पीएम-किसान सम्मान निधि और फसल बीमा योजना जैसी कई पहल उनकी आय की सुरक्षा के साथ-साथ खेती को अधिक सशक्त बना रही हैं। पीएम-कुसुम योजना से जहां खेती के लिए उन्हें सौर ऊर्जा सुलभ हुई है, वहीं इससे खेती पर होने वाला खर्च भी कम हुआ है।

"खेती सहित अन्य जरूरतों के लिए कम ब्याज पर आसानी से ऋण उपलब्ध कराने में किसान क्रेडिट कार्ड किसानों, पशुपालकों और मछुआरों के बहुत काम आ रहा है। उनकी फसलों को उचित मूल्य दिलाने के लिए ‘बीज से बाजार तक’ की हमारी पहल भी बहुत कारगर साबित हो रही है।

"किसानों का कल्याण हमारी सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकताओं में है। इसलिए उन्हें कृषि से जुड़ी आधुनिक सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराने पर हमारा निरंतर जोर रहा है। ड्रोन, सॉयल हेल्थ कार्ड और प्राकृतिक खाद से जुड़े अभियानों से भी किसानों को फसल की उत्पादकता बढ़ाने में मदद मिल रही है।
