China Steel Corp to set up Rs.6,000-cr Electrical Steel Plant at Dahej

Ahmadabad, Wednesday: Taiwan-based China Steel Corporation (CSC) today signed an agreement with Gujarat Government in presence of Chief Minister Narendra Modi to set up an Electrical Steel Plant on a 145-acre plot at Dahej GIDC Estate at a cost of Rs.6,000-crore. The construction on phase-1 of the project is scheduled to begin in June 2012 and manufacturing to start in 2014.

Taiwan’s Ambasssador ONG Wen-Chyi was present during the signing ceremony. The agreement was signed by CSC Chairman J. D. Lin and Gujarat Government’s iNDEXTb Managing Director Mukesh Kumar.

Others present on the occasion included Gujarat’s Principal Secretary (Industries) M. Sahu, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary K. Kailashnathan and Industries Commissioner B.B. Swain.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening."Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest. Those affected are being assisted by authorities. Reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah Ji and other officials", Shri Modi said.
