The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting the timeless wisdom of Vedas:

"ऊर्ध्वमूलमधःशाखमश्वत्थं प्राहुरव्ययम्।

छन्दांसि यस्य पर्णानि यस्तं वेद स वेदवित्।।"

The Subhashitam conveys, "The wise say that this world is like an eternal peepal tree, with roots above and branches below. Its leaves are the Vedas. One who understands this tree of worldly existence is said to be a knower of the Vedas."

Shri Modi stated that the lamp of knowledge not only dispels the darkness of ignorance, but also illuminates the entire world and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Ji is a living example of this.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

“ज्ञान का दीपक ना केवल अज्ञानता के अंधकार को मिटाता है, बल्कि समस्त जगत को आलोकित भी करता है। महर्षि दयानंद सरस्वती जी का दिव्य व्यक्तित्व इसका साक्षात उदाहरण है।

ऊर्ध्वमूलमधःशाखमश्वत्थं प्राहुरव्ययम्।

छन्दांसि यस्य पर्णानि यस्तं वेद स वेदवित्।।"

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation today with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.

President Pezeshkian briefed the Prime Minister on the current situation in Iran and shared his perspective on recent developments in the region.

The Prime Minister expressed deep concern about the evolving security situation in the region and reiterated India’s consistent position that all issues must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s priority regarding the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in the region, including in Iran, as also the importance of unhindered transit of energy and goods.

The two leaders agreed to remain in touch.
