Prime Minister’s meeting with Prime Minister of Sweden

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met H.E. Ms. Magdalena Andersson, Prime Minister of Sweden, on the sidelines of the 2nd India-Nordic Summit in Copenhagen. This was the first meeting between the two leaders.

India and Sweden have had longstanding close relations based on common values; strong business, investment and R&D linkages; and similar approaches to global peace, security and development. Innovation, Technology, Investment and R&D collaborations provide the bedrock of this modern relationship. During the 2018 visit of Prime Minister Modi to Sweden on the occasion of the 1st India-Nordic Summit, the two sides had adopted a wide-ranging Joint Action Plan and signed a Joint Innovation Partnership.

In today’s meeting, the two leaders reviewed the progress made in our bilateral partnership. They also expressed satisfaction at the progress made by the Lead IT initiative. This was a India-Sweden joint global initiative to set up a Leadership Group on Industry Transition (LeadIT) in September 2019 at the UN Climate Action Summit to help guide the world’s heaviest greenhouse gas (GHG) emitting industries towards the low-carbon economy. Its membership has now grown to 35 with 16 countries and 19 companies.

Both leaders also discussed possibilities of deepening cooperation in areas like innovation, climate technology, climate action, green hydrogen, space, defence, civil aviation, Arctic, polar research, sustainable mining and trade and economic ties.

Discussions also took place on regional and global developments.

सेवा और आध्यात्मिकता की प्रतीक अम्मा, माता अमृतानंदमयी जी को मेरा सादर प्रणाम। उनके सत्तरवें जन्मदिवस के अवसर पर, मैं अम्मा के लंबे और स्वस्थ जीवन की कामना करता हूं। मेरी प्रार्थना है, दुनियाभर में प्रेम और करुणा के प्रसार का उनका मिशन निरंतर आगे बढ़ता रहे। अम्मा के अनुयायियों समेत अलग-अलग क्षेत्रों से यहां जुटे सभी लोगों को भी मैं बधाई देता हूं, अपनी शुभकामनाएं देता हूं।

साथियों,

मैं अम्मा के साथ 30 से अधिक वर्षों से सीधे संपर्क में हूं। कच्छ में भूकंप के बाद मुझे अम्मा के साथ लंबे समय तक काम करने का अनुभव मिला था। मुझे आज भी वो दिन याद है जब अम्मा का 60वां जन्मदिन अमृतापुरी में मनाया गया। आज के इस कार्यक्रम में, मैं प्रत्यक्ष उपस्थित होता तो मुझे आनंद आता और अच्छा लगता। आज भी मैं देखता हूं, अम्मा के मुस्कुराते चेहरे और स्नेह से भरे स्वभाव की गर्मजोशी पहले की ही तरह बनी हुई है। और इतना ही नहीं, पिछले 10 वर्षों में, अम्मा के कार्य और दुनिया पर उनका प्रभाव कई गुना बढ़ गया है। पिछले वर्ष अगस्त में मुझे हरियाणा के फरीदाबाद में अमृता हॉस्पिटल के लोकार्पण करने का सौभाग्य मिला था। अम्मा की उपस्थिति का, उनके आशीर्वाद का जो आभामंडल होता है, वो शब्दों में बताना मुश्किल है, उसे हम सिर्फ महसूस कर सकते हैं। मुझे याद है, तब मैंने अम्मा के लिए कहा था, और आज दोहराता हूं, स्नेह-त्तिन्डे, कारुण्य-त्तिन्डे, सेवन-त्तिन्डे, त्याग-त्तिन्डे, पर्यायमाण अम्मा। माता अमृतानंन्दमयी देवी, भार-त्तिन्डे महत्ताय, आध्यात्मिक पारंपर्य-त्तिन्डे, नेरव-काशियाण, अर्थात:- अम्मा, प्रेम, करुणा, सेवा और त्याग की प्रतिमूर्ति हैं। वो भारत की आध्यात्मिक परंपरा की वाहक हैं।

साथियों,

अम्मा के कार्यों का एक पहलू ये भी है कि उन्होंने देश-विदेश में संस्थाओं का निर्माण किया, उन्हें आगे बढ़ावा दिया। स्वास्थ्य का क्षेत्र हो, शिक्षा का क्षेत्र हो, अम्मा के मार्गदर्शन में हर संस्था ने मानव सेवा को, समाज कल्याण को नई ऊंचाई दी। जब देश ने स्वच्छता का अभियान शुरू किया, तो अम्मा उन शुरुआती व्यक्तित्वों में से थीं, जो इसे सफल बनाने के लिए आगे आईं। गंगा तट पर शौचालय बनाने के लिए उन्होंने 100 करोड़ रुपए का दान भी दिया था, जिससे स्वच्छता को नया बल मिला। दुनिया भर में अम्मा के अनुयायी हैं औऱ उन्होंने भी भारत की छवि को, देश की साख को हमेशा मजबूत किया है। जब प्रेरणा इतनी महान हो तो प्रयास भी बड़े हो ही जाते हैं।

साथियों,

महामारी के बाद की दुनिया में, आज विकास को लेकर भारत की human-centric approach को स्वीकार किया जा रहा है। ऐसे मोड़ पर, अम्मा जैसे व्यक्तित्व भारत की human-centric approach के प्रतिबिंब हैं। अम्मा ने हमेशा ही अशक्त को सशक्त बनाने और वंचित को वरीयता देने का मानवीय यज्ञ किया है। कुछ दिन पहले ही भारत की संसद ने नारीशक्ति वंदन अधिनियम भी पास किया है। Women Led Development के संकल्प के साथ आगे बढ़ रहे भारत के सामने अम्मा जैसा प्रेरणादायी व्यक्तित्व है। मुझे विश्वास है कि अम्मा के अनुयायी, दुनिया में शांति और प्रगति को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ऐसे ही काम करते रहेंगे। एक बार फिर, मैं अम्मा को उनके सत्तरवें जन्मदिवस की शुभकामनाएं देता हूं। वो दीर्घायु हों, उनका स्वास्थ्य बेहतर रहे, वो मानवता की ऐसे ही सेवा करती रहे। हम सभी पर ऐसे ही अपना स्नेह दिखाती रहें, इसी कामना के साथ मैं अपनी बात समाप्त करता हूं। फिर एक बार अम्मा को प्रणाम
