Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met Dr. Himla Soodyall, noted geneticist & CEO of the Academy of Science of South Africa in Johannesburg on 24 August 2023.

They exchanged views on the domain of human genetic lines and its application in disease screening.

Prime Minister invited Dr. Soodyall to collaborate with Indian institutes in the field of genetics.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, extended greetings on the occasion of the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

The Prime Minister said that for centuries, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has shown humanity the way of selfless service, human dignity and togetherness.

Shri Modi expressed hope that the sacred occasion would inspire everyone to deepen these values in society and build a more compassionate and harmonious world.
