The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed deep concern over the situation in Darjeeling and adjoining areas, which have been severely affected by heavy rainfall and landslides.

Shri Modi reiterated the Government’s commitment to provide all possible assistance to the affected regions and emphasized coordinated efforts between central and state agencies to mitigate the impact of the natural calamity.

In a post on X, Shri Modi wrote:

“Authorities are closely monitoring the situation in Darjeeling and surrounding areas affected by heavy rainfall and landslides. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. Wishing the injured a quick recovery.”
