On the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashmi, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in the programme to lay the foundation stone of Amaravati, the proposed capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The Prime Minister lauded the AP Government and in particular CM Chandrababu Naidu for the manner in which work began on the city. He talked at length about the Centre’s efforts towards urban development and smart cities.

Shri Modi assured the people and government of AP that the Centre will do everything possible for the progress of AP. He also lauded the gesture of AP CM Shri Naidu to invite his Telangana counterpart, Shri K Chandrasekhar Rao for the programme.

Union Ministers, CMs of AP and Telangana, Governors of Tamil Nadu, Nagaland and other eminent dignitaries were present on the occasion.
