PM attends meeting of Somnath Trust

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today attended a meeting of the Somnath Trust in New Delhi, in his capacity as a trustee.

The meeting was also attended by Shri Keshubhai Patel - Chairman of the Trust, and the other trustees - Shri LK Advani, Shri PK Lahiri, Shri Harshvardhan Neotia and Shri JD Parmar.

The meeting condoled the passing away of Shri Prassanvadan Mehta, who was also a trustee.

The trustees discussed ways and means to make the Somnath complex even more attractive for tourists. They discussed the town infrastructure, keeping in view the increase in the number of tourists. Ongoing projects of the Trust were also discussed.

The trustees nominated Shri Keshubhai Patel as Chairman of the Trust for one more year.

The Prime Minister noted that their rich experience and deep understanding of various issues will greatly strengthen policymaking. Shri Modi expressed confidence that their contributions will help drive innovation and growth across sectors. He also wished them a very productive and impactful tenure ahead.
