Jhagadia emerges as the fastest growing tribal taluka - Hon'ble CM

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today described Jhagadia as the fastest growing tribal taluka (block) in the country in terms of providing modern infrastructure and quality life during the last decade.

He recalled that Dahej was recently adjudged the only one from India and the 25th fastest growing SEZ in the world.

Talking about the Jhagadia's rise from one of the most backward talukas to the most progressive one, he said, the state's economic development during the last decade has redefined the word 'V for Victory' into 'V for Vibrant Gujarat'.

Mr. Modi, who was inaugurating the rubber chemicals major Lanxess ion exchange resins manufacturing plant at Jhagadia Industrial Estate, complimented the firm for bringing best water treatment technology to the state. With exposure in 50 countries, it becomes the German firm's third plant in the state. Its benefit would be now available in other parts of the country too, he said.

The German firm's Chief Executive Officer and other top officers reciprocated the compliments by thanking Mr. Modi for extra-ordinary co-operation and concern for green environment. They handed over a cheque of Rs. 10-lakh to the Chief Ministers Girls Education Fund.

Those present on the occasion included MP Bharatsinh Parmar, MLA Dushyant Patel, BJP District President Shirishbhai Bangali, Bharuch Nagarpalika Presidents Manharbhai Gohil and District Collector Roopwant Singh.

PM to inaugurate 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth on 15th January

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) on 15th January 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. Prime Minister will also address the gathering on the occasion.

The Conference will be chaired by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla and will be attended by 61 Speakers and Presiding Officers of 42 Commonwealth countries and 4 semi-autonomous parliaments from different parts of the world.

The Conference will deliberate on a wide range of contemporary parliamentary issues, including the role of Speakers and Presiding Officers in maintaining strong democratic institutions, the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary functioning, the impact of social media on Members of Parliament, innovative strategies to enhance public understanding of Parliament and citizen participation beyond voting, among others.
