CM called upon people to recognize those who deceive public by throwing false promises

Performing ground breaking for the Vautha-Palla Bridge today Chief Minister Narendra Modi called upon people to recognize those who deceive public by throwing false promises.

There was a long time need for this bridge on Sabarmati river at Matar taluka of Kheda district. Foundation stone for the bridge was laid in 1997 but the work was stalled due to unavailability of budget. The present government allocated the budget for it and completed the tendering process and started the construction of this bridge at the cost of Rs.37 crore. The bridge will connect Charotar and Bhal regions and will reduce the distance for thousands of tourists of historic Vautha fair.

“Someone laid the stone for the bridge 15 years back and rupees one lakh was spent behind it. But they never cared to allocate a single rupee of budget for it. The whole troop indulged in deceiving public with falsehood has been exposed”, said Chief Minister.

Mr. Modi enumerated various instances when governments of Indira Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi deceived people with false promises. The Centre has caused great many injustices to Gujarat and the TV advertisement related to it is an indication that if the Centre would not stop its injustice towards Gujarat, the people of Gujarat will give a heavy slap to them in elections, he said.

Why the opposition is not appealing people to support the gutkha ban campaign, if it is really interested in the good of people? Chief Minister questioned. But their hunger for power has budded to such a level that now they do not have any other interest than coming to the power, even at the cost of the good of public, he said.

Revenue Minister Anandiben Patel said the state government has increased its budget by manifold to provide infrastructural facilities to people, which has boosted the growth of Gujarat. Education Minister Ramanlal Vora and Deputy Chairman of Gujarat State Planning Commission Bhupendrasinh Chudasama exuded faith that the new bridge will give impetus to the growth of Kheda district.

Parliamentary Secretary Sundarsinh Chauhan, Kathlal MLA Kanubhai Dabhi, Bavala MLA Kantibhai Lakum, local leaders, office bearers and villagers in large number were present on the occasion.
