Speaking at the convocation ceremony of Gujarat National Law University Chief Minister Narendra Modi called upon students to become capable of getting through the test and trials of life.

The 3rd convocation of Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) was held today at the university’s campus near Gandhinagar in which 129 students of law were conferred post-graduate, graduate degree, diploma and gold medals. The degree and diploma certificates were awarded by the Supreme Court Justice Anil R Dave whereas the Chief Minister, who was the chief guest of the function, gave gold medals to the successful students.

Extending wishes of bright future to the students Chief Minister said the yardstick of real learning is that how skillfully one can get through the tests and trials of life. Students should learn to take on the challenges of life with confidence.

Chief Minister exuded faith that the education imparted by GNLU will prove helpful to the students at every stage of their life. He pointed out that the tradition of convocation is also seen in
Taiteeriya Upanishad. “Gratitude and respect for teacher, like that of Eklavya, is the key to success”, he said.

Speaking on the occasion Supreme Court Justice Anil Dave asked students to perform their responsibilities toward society along with the practice of law. “Studentship does not end with getting of degrees. This degree is mere a drop of a vast ocean of knowledge. The time demands that a practitioner of law keep updating himself with new laws and verdicts”, he said.

In the beginning of the function, Dr. Bimal Patel, Director of GNLU, presented university’s progress report and gave information regarding the achievements and the future planning of the university.

As many as 19 students got gold medals at PG level and two students got gold medals at graduate level.

Minister of State for Law Pradipsinh Jadeja was also present on the occasion.
