Prime Minister expresses sadness over the passing of Thiru Bharathiraja Ji

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today expressed deep sadness over the passing of Thiru Bharathiraja Ji. The Prime Minister noted that he was a towering figure of the cinema world whose works transformed Tamil cinema.

Shri Modi observed that his portrayal of rural life was particularly noteworthy. The Prime Minister stated that his thoughts are with his family and admirers in this hour of grief, praying Om Shanti.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

"The passing of Thiru Bharathiraja Ji is very saddening. He was a towering figure of the cinema world whose works transformed Tamil cinema. Particularly noteworthy was his portrayal of rural life. My thoughts are with his family and admirers in this hour of grief. Om Shanti."

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam today, highlighting how a person of noble character earns respect in society and is regarded as worthy of every responsibility.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

"शीलवान् पूजितो लोके शीलवान् साधुसम्मतः।

शीलवान् सर्वकर्मार्हः शीलवान् प्रियदर्शनः॥"

A person of noble character earns respect in society and the esteem of the virtuous. Through integrity, humility and disciplined conduct, such an individual is regarded as worthy of every responsibility. Their personality is admirable, inspiring and worthy of emulation. In truth, noble character is the true foundation of lasting success, effective leadership, and enduring trust.
