PM Narendra Modi dedicated water supply schemes in Modasa, Gujarat. While addressing a gathering, the PM said, “We have ensured that farmers across Gujarat get water through our various irrigation schemes.”

 

Shri Modi expounded about Sujalam Sufalam Yojana and said, “Sujalam Sufalam Yojana has helped water reach at the door steps in every village and the farmers of Gujarat are happy.” He also said that through Vatrak Water Supply Scheme, several farmers were being benefitted.

 

Speaking about influence of Buddhism in Vadnagar, the PM added, “There are thousands of hostels for Buddhist ascetics. They can attract tourists from world over.”

Speaking about e-NAM, the PM said, “e-NAM is helping farmers sell their produce online at the right price across the entire country. More than 400 agriculture markets are associated with e-NAM. Farmer now has a power to sell his stock on a mobile phone through e-NAM. Our government has done this work of connecting the nation.”

He also spoke at length about Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and said, “For the first time we have a fasal bima yojana that gives maximum protection with minimum premium.”

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has wished National Maritime Week to add vigour to the ongoing efforts towards port-led development and harnessing the coasts for economic prosperity.

He was replying to a tweet by the Union Minister, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal where he informed about pinning the first Maritime Flag on the Prime Minister's lapel to mark the commencement of National Maritime Week. The National Maritime Day on April 5 celebrates the glorious history of India's maritime tradition.

The Prime Minister tweeted:

"May the National Maritime Week serve as an opportunity to deepen our connect with our rich maritime history. May it also add vigour to the ongoing efforts towards port-led development and harnessing our coasts for economic prosperity."
