CM lays foundation stone for Rs 151 crore housing projects:

Vadodara, September, 25 (Information Bureau); Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has called upon youth to develop sportsman spirit and dedicatedly Endeavour to realize the dream of Swami Vivekananda to make India jagadguru (Leader of the World).

Addressing a grand dazzling valedictory ceremony of Swami Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Parishad at historic Navlakhi ground in Vadodara, on Tuesday, he announced amid the thunderous applause and cheers, that, the Government has decided to stay guarantor of that youth who want to start his own business or profession and does not have any guarantor.

As a part of Swami Vivekananda 150th birth anniversary celebration the state Youth Services and Cultural Activities department has organized a series of seven Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Parishad. The seventh parishad was organized today at Vadodara.

Coming down heavily on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for his statement: Money does not grow on the tree, he said, people of India are wise enough to see that money does not grow on the tree, but for Centre money grows on the trees name Coalgate.

Challenging the Centre to compete Gujarat in the arena of development he said,” if Centre provides 0ne crore employment to unemployed youth in the country, I will generate one crore employment for the youth of Gujarat.” He announced that a Sports University has been formed in the state to encourage the youth wishing to develop a career in sports. Government has decided to build a sports school in every district, he added. Government has also hiked amount of scholarship for sports person’s and increases dearness allowance for sports teachers. The Chief Minister announced that Gujarat Government has taken a number of steps for the development of the youth in Gujarat.

Despite a number of attempts to defame Gujarat it had the strength to march on his own to the path of the development, he added. 5277 sports kits were distributed to the members of 1886 Swami Vivekananda sports associations that were formed during the year. Cricketer turned MP Navjotsingh Sidddhu also praised the development of Gujarat. Earlier the Chief Minister performed ground breaking ceremony for mega multi story housing projects of Gujarat Housing Board worth Rs. 151 crore, in the city.

The Chief Minister also visited Ganesh Pandals in Tad Falia, Hari Nagar cross roads, Gorva, Chhani and Sangam cross roads on Harni road in the city.

Urban Development Minister Nitinbhai Patel, MOS Law and judiciary Pradeepsinh Jadeja, MOS Tourism Jitendra Sukhadia, Parliamentary Secretary Yogeshbhai Patel, MP Balkrishna Shukla, Mayor Jyotiben Pandya, District President Sudhaben Parmar, Sports secretary Bhagyesh Jha, Collector Vinod Rao, Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Kumar, DDO Rakesh Shanker, and MLAs of the district, cricketers and sports persons were present on the occasion.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of New Zealand, The Rt. Hon. Christopher Luxon today. The two leaders jointly announced the successful conclusion of the historic, ambitious and mutually beneficial India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

With negotiations having been Initiated during PM Luxon’s visit to India in March 2025, the two leaders agreed that the conclusion of the FTA in a record time of 9 months reflects the shared ambition and political will to further deepen ties between the two countries. The FTA would significantly deepen bilateral economic engagement, enhance market access, promote investment flows, strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries, and also open up new opportunities for innovators, entrepreneurs, farmers, MSMEs, students and youth of both countries across various sectors.

With the strong and credible foundation provided by the FTA, both leaders expressed confidence in doubling bilateral trade over the next five years as well as an investment of USD 20 billion in India from New Zealand over the next 15 years. The leaders also welcomed the progress achieved in other areas of bilateral cooperation such as sports, education, and people-to-people ties, and reaffirmed their commitment towards further strengthening of the India-New Zealand partnership.
