Group of Secretaries to Govt of India discuss farmer-centric issues in agriculture & allied sectors with PM

As a follow-up to Prime Minister's exhortation to Secretaries to come up with ideas for transformative change in various areas of governance, on Wednesday (20th January, 2016), two Groups of Secretaries presented their ideas and suggestions on (a) Good Governance: Challenges and Opportunities (b) Farmer-centric issues in agriculture and allied sectors, to the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

Union Ministers Shri Rajnath Singh, Smt. Sushma Swaraj, Shri Nitin Gadkari, and Shri Manohar Parrikar, besides all Secretaries to the Government of India were present. During and after the presentation, several members of the audience, including the Prime Minister and Union Ministers asked questions related to the theme of the presentation, and gave their suggestions.

Prime Minister condoles passing of Shri Biswa Bandhu Sen Ji

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has condoled the passing of Shri Biswa Bandhu Sen Ji, Speaker of the Tripura Assembly. Shri Modi stated that he will be remembered for his efforts to boost Tripura’s progress and commitment to numerous social causes.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

"Pained by the passing of Shri Biswa Bandhu Sen Ji, Speaker of the Tripura Assembly. He will be remembered for his efforts to boost Tripura’s progress and commitment to numerous social causes. My thoughts are with his family and admirers in this sad hour. Om Shanti."
