Prime Minister’s visit to Wat Pho

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, accompanied by the Prime Minister of Thailand, H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, today visited Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan, popularly known as Wat Pho.

Prime Minister paid homage to the Reclining Buddha and offered ‘Sanghadana’ to senior Buddhists monks. Prime Minister also presented a replica of Ashokan Lion Capitol to the shrine of Reclining Buddha. On the occasion, he recalled the strong and vibrant civilizational ties that exist between the two countries.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam applauding the effort and dedication of India's Youth:

"न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते ।

तत्स्वयं योगसंसिद्ध: कालेनात्मनि विन्दति ॥"

Shri Modi said that through continuous effort and dedication, our talents are honed and refined, and our youth is imbibing these very qualities and bringing glory to India.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

निरंतर प्रयास और साधना से हमारी प्रतिभा और निखरती है। आज हमारे युवा इन्हीं गुणों को आत्मसात कर दुनियाभर में देश का नाम रोशन कर रहे हैं।

न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते ।

तत्स्वयं योगसंसिद्ध: कालेनात्मनि विन्दति ॥
