PM Modi’s endeavour to transform sports in India

Various initiatives including a record increase in India’s sports budget, Khelo India Games, and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme showcase the Modi government’s emphasis on transforming sports in India. PM Modi’s endeavour for hosting the ‘Youth Olympics’ and the ‘Olympics 2036’ in India showcases the pioneering transformation and vision for India’s sports in the last decade.

Anju Bobby George, Athlete hailed PM Modi’s support being unprecedented for sports and narrated how PM Modi met her and enquired about the issues concerning sports in India. She said that PM Modi deeply enquired about the various issues and sought to resolve these issues on a mission mode to transform sports in India.

Along with an intent to resolve issues, PM Modi always kept in touch with various athletes and tried to bring about a systemic change in the way sports were viewed in India. Moreover, India’s sporting transformation was also a result of the improved sporting infrastructure in the country.

“PM Modi is really interested in sports. He knows each athlete… their performance. Before any major championships, he is calling them personally and interacting with them… big send-offs he is organising and after coming back also we are celebrating each victory,” she remarked.

Every athlete, she added, was happy as the PM himself was taking keen interest in their careers, well-being and performance.

पंतप्रधान मोदींचे हृद्य पत्र

दिव्यांग कलाकार दिया गोसाईसाठी, सर्जनशीलतेचा क्षण आयुष्य बदलणारा अनुभव ठरला. 29 ऑक्टोबर रोजी बडोद्यात पंतप्रधान मोदींचा रोड शो सुरू असताना, तिने रेखाटलेली त्यांची आणि स्पेन सरकारचे अध्यक्ष महामहीम. श्री. पेड्रो सांचेझ यांची रेखाचित्रे त्यांना भेट दिली. तिने अत्यंत मनापासून दिलेली ही भेट स्वीकारण्यासाठी दोन्ही नेते वाहनातून उतरून जातीने तिच्याजवळ त्यामुळे तिच्या आनंदाला पारावार राहिला नाही.

काही आठवड्यांनंतर, 6 नोव्हेंबर रोजी, दियाला तिच्या कलाकृतीची प्रशंसा करणारे पंतप्रधानांचे पत्र आले, त्यामध्ये त्यांनी महामहीम. श्री. सांचेझ यांनीही त्याचे कौतुक केल्याचे देखील कळवले होते. पीएम मोदींनी तिला ललित कलांवर पूर्णपणे लक्ष केंद्रित करून त्याचे शिक्षण घेण्याच्या आवाहनाबरोबरच "विकसित भारत" घडवण्यातील तरुणांच्या भूमिकेवर विश्वासही व्यक्त केला होता. त्या पत्राला त्यांनी खास आपल्या पद्धतीची जोड देत तिच्या कुटुंबियांना दिवाळी आणि नववर्षाच्या हार्दिक शुभेच्छाही दिल्या होत्या.

या पत्रामुळे आनंदाने भारावून, दियाने तिच्या पालकांना पत्र वाचून दाखवले असता तिने आपल्या कुटुंबाला इतका मोठा बहुमान मिळवून दिल्याचा त्यांनाही आनंद झाला. " आपल्या देशाचा एक छोटासा भाग असल्याचा मला अभिमान आहे. मोदीजी, तुमचे प्रेम आणि आशीर्वाद मला दिल्याबद्दल धन्यवाद," असे म्हणत दियाने पंतप्रधानांच्या पत्रामुळे आपल्याला जीवनात धाडसी पावले उचलण्याची आणि इतरांनाही अशा प्रकारे सक्षम बनविण्याची प्रेरणा मिळाली, असेही नमूद केले.

पंतप्रधान मोदींच्या या कृतीतून दिव्यांगांना सक्षम बनविण्याची आणि त्यांच्या योगदानाची यथोचित दखल घेण्याची त्यांची बांधिलकी दिसून येते. सुगम्य भारत अभियानासारख्या अनेक उपक्रमांपासून ते दिया सारखीशी वैयक्तिक नाते प्रस्थापित करण्यापर्यंत, ते सातत्याने प्रेरणा देण्याचा आणि त्यांना वर आणण्याचे काम करून, प्रत्येक प्रयत्न चांगल्या भविष्यासाठी आवश्यक असल्याचे सिद्ध करत आहेत .
