PM Modi addressed BJP Karyakartas at the party headquarters in thanksgiving ceremony over victories in Bihar assembly polls and by polls in other states. In his victory speech, the Prime Minister attributed BJP’s electoral success to BJP’s governance. “When people think of governance, they think of BJP,” the PM said.

“I want to thank the people of the country, not because they made BJP win the polls across the states, but also because all of us enthusiastically participated in the festival of democracy,” he said.

Congratulating the party karyakartas and the BJP President, he said, “I congratulate every karyakarta of NDA as well as their families for the success of their dedicated work and contribution in the elections. I want to congratulate BJP President JP Nadda ji for the victory in the poll.”

“There is something that we have almost forgotten. Earlier, a day after polling, we used to get news of repolling, booth capture. But today we only get headlines such as 'Rise in polling numbers of women' and 'Rise in number of votes given' is a massive change from our past,” the PM said.

Taking a journey down memory lane, PM Modi said, “There was a time when the BJP had only two seats. And we started from two rooms. But today we are everywhere. Everyone is asking how did this happen? The answer lies in the verdict of yesterday. The people of India clearly stated that the only point of debate during elections would be the development in the 21st century India. People of India are asking every other party to come to this plank, and showing them that these are the real issues.”

Addressing the massive crowd of supporters, the Prime Minister asserted, “Good railways, better airports, bridges, internet connectivity, some will say, are not important in elections. People are telling political parties that this is not the case. This is going to be the basis of development. People who did not understand this - have lost their deposits.”

PM Modi thanked the people of Bihar for the overwhelming support given to the NDA and assured them of greater progress in the years to come. “The secret to winning Bihar elections is 'Sabka saath, Sabka vikas, Sabka vishwas'. It is a victory of the development works in Bihar,” he added.

In a rousing speech at the party headquarters to celebrate the BJP's victory, PM Modi urged the youth of the country to come forward and lend their selfless service by joining the party. “Youth of the country today knows it very well that dynasty politics poses the biggest threat to democracy. Unfortunately, a national-level political party is caught in the web of family politics. In such a situation, the role of BJP increases even more,” he said.

“BJP only national party in which poor, dalits, deprived see their representation. Only BJP understands need of every section, region,” he said. The Prime Minister extended Diwali greetings to the countrymen. Once again, the PM reminded everyone the resolve of 'vocal for local'.

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today has given its approval for the continuation of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-III (PMGSY-III) beyond March 2025 upto March 2028. It involves consolidation of Through Routes and Major Rural Links connecting habitations to Gramin Agricultural Markets (GrAMs), Higher Secondary Schools and Hospitals. The revised outlay of the scheme will be Rs.83,977 crore.

The Cabinet further, amongst other things, approved the following:

  • Extension of timeline till March 2028 for completion of roads and bridges in plain areas and roads in hilly areas.
  • Extension of timeline till March 2029 for completion of bridges in hilly areas.
  • Works sanctioned before 31.03.2025 but un-awarded till now may be taken up for tender/award.
  • Long Span Bridges (LSBs) (161 Nos. with estimated cost of Rs.961 crore) pending for sanction but lying on the alignment of already sanctioned roads may be sanctioned and tendered/awarded.
  • Revision of outlay to Rs. 83,977 crore from original outlay of Rs.80,250 crore.

Benefits:

The extension of the timeline of PMGSY-III will enable the full realization of its intended socio-economic benefits by ensuring completion of targeted upgradation of rural roads. It will significantly boost the rural economy and trade by enhancing market access for agricultural and non-farm products, reducing transportation time and costs, and thereby improving rural incomes. Improved connectivity will facilitate better access to education and healthcare institutions, ensuring timely delivery of essential services, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

The continued implementation will also generate substantial employment opportunities, both directly through construction activities and indirectly by promoting rural enterprises and services. Overall, the extension will contribute to inclusive and sustainable development by bridging the rural-urban divide and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
