After launching various infra projects in Sambalpur, Odisha PM Modi addressed a dynamic public meeting.

Referring to the invaluable contributions of Advani Ji, PM Modi said, “The government has decided to honour Advani ji with the Bharat Ratna for his invaluable contributions and service to India.” His personality exemplifies the true philosophy of ‘Nation First’, he said. He added that Advani Ji has guided India against the dynastic politics and towards the politics of development.

Speaking on the launch of various projects in Odisha worth more than Rs. 70,000 crores, he said that the government is prioritizing the development of the state of Odisha enabling it’s infra impetus. On the development front, he added that the government has been successful in reducing poverty, ensuring 25 crore people exiting multidimensional poverty over the last 10 years. He said, “Government’s focus is to empower Youth, Nari Shakti, Farmers and the Poor. Modi’s guarantee is the fulfillment of all guarantees.”

“The last 10 years have been dedicated to the development of India and the state of Odisha has been a central focus of the same,” PM Modi added. He said that as Odisha is a coastal state the government has strived to improve the lives and livelihoods of the fishermen in the state by enabling port-led development and creation of resilient modern infrastructure.

Focusing on electricity generation, PM Modi said, “The government has launched the Rooftop Solar power scheme to enable access to electricity to all.” He said that India’s health outcomes have also improved significantly, enabling quality healthcare for all.

“With an essential focus on women empowerment, the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative has led to their financial empowerment,” PM Modi added.

Talking on political corruption, PM Modi said “Previous governments instead of focusing on improved budgets, they only squandered public money indulging in rampant corruption”. He added that the reason behind India’s confidence today is a government that is facilitating the guarantee of an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’

Lamenting previous governments, PM Modi stated, “Our government truly prioritizes the well-being of the Janjatiyas and not merely treating them as vote-banks like previous governments.” He added, “Today, Modi’s guarantee has imparted the PM-JANMAN enabling the last-mile saturation of all government schemes empowering PVTGs”.


Highlighting the importance of infrastructure, PM Modi emphasized, “Our government has increased spending to over Rs. 11 lakh crores, where the previous Congress government only spent Rs. 2 lakh crores.” He said that a renewed focus on infra spending has modernized India’s infrastructure. Moreover, he said that this government is ensuring that the fruits of development reach all the people of Odisha, unlike the previous Congress government that only believed in photo-ops.

Honouring Odisha globally, PM Modi said, “To enable international acclaim to the state of Odisha the Konark Chakra was chosen as a symbol during the G20 Summit in New Delhi.”

PM Modi expressed his condolences on the death of ‘Sadhu Meher’ a veteran actor, director and Odisha. PM Modi said “Sadhu Meher Ji was the ambassador of the entire potential of the state of Odisha.” He added that the government had also acknowledged his contributions by conferring the ‘Padmashree award’ in the year 2017.

PM Modi said that Modi’s guarantee is to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of all and to enable the transformation of India into a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

Prime Minister holds official talks with Prime Minister of Malaysia

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was today received by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, H.E. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Perdana Putra complex and accorded a ceremonial welcome. Thereafter, the Leaders met in restricted and delegation-level formats at Seri Perdana, the official residence of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The leaders held wide-ranging discussions and agreed to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established between the two countries in 2024. They recalled the age-old India-Malaysia ties which underpin the partnership and the close people-to-people bonds. The leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, including priority sectors such as trade, investment, defence, security, maritime, clean energy, infrastructure, start-ups, agriculture, education, health, Ayurveda, tourism and cultural linkages. They also discussed enhancing cooperation in emerging areas such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence. The leaders appreciated the steady progress in digital cooperation between the two countries through the bilateral Digital Council and welcomed the agreement between UPI and Pay-net to enhance fintech collaboration.

Prime Minister Modi called for strengthening youth linkages through parliamentary and university exchanges. In this context, he welcomed the ongoing cooperation between Nalanda University in India and Universiti Malaya, and IIT Madras and Advanced Semiconductor Academy of Malaysia. He noted that the opening of India India’s first Consulate in Malaysia would strengthen commercial and people-to-people ties.

The two leaders exchanged perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including global governance reforms, the Indo-pacific and the growing India-ASEAN partnership. Prime Minister called for the AITIGA review to be completed at the earliest.

Prime Minister also took the opportunity to congratulate Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for Malaysia’s successful Chairship of ASEAN in 2025. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim conveyed his good wishes and support for India’s Presidency of the BRICS in 2026. Prime Minister thanked Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack and the Red Fort blast, and called for continued close cooperation in counter-terrorism.

Following the talks, several important bilateral agreements, including on digital payments, security cooperation, semiconductors, health and medicine, disaster management, combating corruption, audio-visual co-production, technical and vocational education, UN peacekeeping cooperation and social security for Indian workers were exchanged. The 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum was held on 07 February 2026, on the margins of the visit of Prime Minister. The outcome document of the Forum was received by both sides.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of Prime Minister. Prime Minister thanked Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his gracious hospitality and invited him to visit India.
