पंतप्रधान मोदींनी गुजरातमधील वनतारा येथे भेट देऊन तेथे सुटका करण्यात आलेले आशियाई सिंह, बिबटे, मार्जार कुळातील शशकर्ण आणि इतर प्राण्यांच्या सान्निध्यात वेळ घालवला. तेथे प्राण्यांच्या रक्षणासाठी करण्यात येत असलेल्या प्रयत्नांची त्यांनी माहिती घेतली तसेच त्यांचे जीव वाचविण्यासाठी करण्यात येत असलेल्या उपचारांची पाहणी करताना वन्यजीवांच्या संरक्षणाप्रती भारत कटिबद्ध असल्याचे अधोरेखित केले. पंतप्रधानांनी प्राण्यांची काळजी घेणाऱ्या व्यक्ती, कर्मचारी आणि डॉक्टरांशीही संवाद साधला.
