On the morning of Monday 5th August 2013 Shri Narendra Modi congratulated the women hockey players who winning their first ever bronze medal at the Junior Women Hockey World Cup. He described this victory as a historic feat.

Extending his good wishes on Twitter, Shri Modi wrote, “Congratulations to our women hockey players for winning the first bronze at Junior Women Hockey World Cup. A historic feat!”

PM pays tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. M.G. Ramachandran on his Jayanti

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has paid tributes to the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Bharat Ratna Dr. M.G. Ramachandran (MGR), on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

In a statement, the Prime Minister lauded MGR's multifaceted legacy, highlighting his monumental role in the socio-economic development of Tamil Nadu and his efforts in taking Tamil culture to the global stage.

The Prime Minister in separate posts on X said:

“Paying homage to the exceptional MGR on his Jayanti. His contribution to Tamil Nadu's progress is outstanding. Equally noteworthy is his role in popularising Tamil culture. We will always keep working to realise his vision for our society.”
