Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has challenged Union Government and Prime Minister Manmohansinh to compete with Gujarat on the arena of development. He assured the people of Gujarat that Gujarat will certainly defeat Union Government. He lambasted Centre for drastic price rise and said “I have adopted the sole agenda of development. We have achieved the new heights of development. We are utilizing public fund carefully and responsibly as I am the custodian of the public exchequer and not allow anybody to misuse it,” he added.

Attributing the development of Gujarat to six crore Gujaratis he said, Gujarat’s development was solely based on unity, harmony, peace and integrity of 6 crore people of Gujarat and Gujarat and development has become the synonymous to each other. Curfew and riots have now become past and Gujarat has earned a unique identity in the world.

Shri. Modi said the tremendous development that has been carried out in Gujarat for the past ten years has not only changed the entire scenario but also changed the mindset of people. Providing drinking water through hand pumps has become a past in Gujara, he added.

He said, Gujarat government has established science stream schools and Industrial Training Institutes in every taluka of state. Tribal children have become pilots and are flying aero planes. Tribal peasants are growing cashew nuts in tribal districts like Valsad and Dangs.

Shri. Modi announced a development package of Rs. 1100 crore for the all round development of Valsad district. This amount will be spent to build new roads, implement new water supply schemes, for health and education sector , development of coastal and tribal areas and to develop infrastructural facilities in the district. Chief Minister observed a day long Sadbhavna Mission fast at tribal dominated Valsad district, located on Arabian Sea in South Gujarat, aiming to spread the message ofunity, harmony and peace in the country.

Thousands of people from all section of society and all walks of lifemade a beeline to greet their beloved Chief Minister, for the entire day.

Religious leaders from various communities, people from all section of society, sports persons, journalists, physically handicapped and mentally challenged children, school children, women-house wives, teenagers, jeans-clad youngsters and old persons and tribal people in their traditional dresses met shri. Modi, and extended their strong support towards the noble cause of Sadbhavana Mission Fast. At least 5500 people of the district voluntarily observed Sadabhavana Fast with Chief Minister at the same venueto show their solidarity with CM.

Tribal Development Minister Mangubhai Patel, while lambasting Opposition for their one point programme of criticizing Chief Minister Narendra Modi, said, people wearing the spectacles of negativity cannot see the development of Gujarat. Gujarat Government has allotted forest land to 83000 tribal peasants. Of which, 23000 tribal people from Valsad district have been benefitted.

The Chief Ministervisited an exhibition jointly organized by State Information Department and Kheda district administration depicting Gujarat’s all round development in the past decade. As many as 25 Government offices as well as voluntary organizations participated in the exhibition.

 

Gujarat Assembly Speaker Ganpatbhai Vasava said, Gujarat is considered to be the safest state in India and it has registered a ten per cent growth in agriculture, against a national average of hardly 2.5 per cent.

Panchayat Minister Narottambhai Patel, Tribal Development Minister Mangubhai Patel, State Sports Minister Ishwarbhai Patel, State BJP President R. C. Faldu, MP Kanjibhai Patel, MP Bharatsinh Parmar also spoke on the occasion.

As thousands of people across the districtgathered at College campus to greet the CM, the large stage was flooded with flower bouquets and mementoes. Dy. Chief whip Ushaben Patel. Member of Parliament C.R. Patil, MLA Dolatbhai Desai, Ramanlal Patkar, District Collector L. C. Patel, Range IGP Hasmukhbhai Patel, DDO P. Bharti were also present.
