An especially designed box containing a beautiful painting of Buddha and his disciples on a long scroll was also presented to PM Modi by Professor Yue Yu. Professor Yue Yu is the Director of Religious Art Institute of North West University in Xi’an and a renowned Buddhist artist, scholar. The box also contains a book “True and Free: Portraits of the Eighteen Arhats in Buddhism”, with paintings by Professor Yue Yu. Professor Yue Yu has studied temples in Xi’an to have a better understanding of Buddhist scriptures.
