Vijay Diwas is the day India pays special homage to our brave sodiers who lost their lives in the Kargil war. It has been 14 years since the Kargil war where we saw our brave Jawans sacrifice their lives to protect the borders of the nation.

On 26th July 2013, as the Kargil Vijay Diwas completed its 14th year, Shri Narendra Modi paid tributes to the brave soldiers who fought their lives during Kargil War. He also dedicated the legendary song “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon” which marks its golden jubilee this year to the sacrifices of the brave soldiers. Written by Kavi Pradeep, the song Ay Mere Watan Ke Logon was sung by Lata Mangeshkarji in 1963 on occasion of Republic Day.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received a telephone call from the Prime Minister of Israel, H.E. Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu today.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction at the continued momentum in India-Israel Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening these ties for mutual benefit.

The two leaders strongly condemned terrorism and reiterated their zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

They also exchanged views on the situation in West Asia. PM Modi reaffirmed India’s support for efforts towards a just and durable peace in the region, including early implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan.

The two leaders agreed to remain in touch.
