The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today conveyed his greetings to the nation on the occasion of World Sanskrit Day, observed on Shravan Poornima. Calling Sanskrit “a timeless source of knowledge and expression”, the Prime Minister underlined its enduring influence across diverse fields.

Shri Modi appreciated the dedication of scholars, students, and enthusiasts across the world who continue to learn, teach, and popularise Sanskrit. He emphasised that over the past decade, the Government has undertaken a series of measures to strengthen Sanskrit learning and research, such as establishing Central Sanskrit Universities, opening Sanskrit Learning Centres, extending grants to Sanskrit scholars, and launching the Gyan Bharatam Mission for digitisation of manuscripts.

In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister wrote;

““Today, on Shravan Poornima, we mark World Sanskrit Day. Sanskrit is a timeless source of knowledge and expression. Its impact can be found across sectors. This day is an occasion to appreciate the effort of every person around the world who is learning and popularising Sanskrit.”

“Over the last decade, our Government has undertaken many efforts to make Sanskrit popular. These include setting up Central Sanskrit Universities, Sanskrit Learning Centres, providing grants to Sanskrit scholars and the Gyan Bharatam Mission to digitise manuscripts. This has benefitted countless students and researchers. 

“आज हम श्रावण पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर विश्व संस्कृत दिवस मना रहे हैं। संस्कृत ज्ञान और अभिव्यक्ति का एक शाश्वत स्रोत है। इसका प्रभाव सभी क्षेत्रों में देखा जा सकता है। यह दिन दुनियाभर में संस्कृत सीखने और उसे लोकप्रिय बनाने वाले प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के प्रयासों की सराहना करने का सुअवसर है।”

“पिछले एक दशक से ज्यादा समय में हमारी सरकार ने संस्कृत को लोकप्रिय बनाने के लिए अनेक प्रयास किए हैं। इनमें केंद्रीय संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय, संस्कृत शिक्षण केंद्रों की स्थापना, संस्कृत विद्वानों को अनुदान प्रदान करना और पांडुलिपियों के डिजिटलीकरण के लिए ज्ञान भारतम मिशन शामिल हैं। इससे अनगिनत विद्यार्थियों और शोधकर्ताओं को लाभ हुआ है।”

“अद्य श्रावणपूर्णिमादिने वयं विश्वसंस्कृतदिवसम् आचरामः। संस्कृतभाषा ज्ञानस्य अभिव्यक्तेः च अनादिस्रोतः अस्ति। तस्याः प्रभावः विविधेषु क्षेत्रेषु द्रष्टुं शक्यते। समग्रे विश्वे प्रत्येकम् अपि जनः यः संस्कृतं पठितुं तस्य प्रचारं कर्तुं च प्रयतमानः अस्ति तस्य प्रशंसायै कश्चन अवसरः नाम एतत् दिनम्।”

“गते दशके अस्माकं सर्वकारेण संस्कृतस्य प्रचाराय अनेके प्रयासाः कृताः सन्ति। तेषु त्रयाणां केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयानां स्थापनम्, संस्कृताध्ययनकेन्द्राणाम् आरम्भः, संस्कृतविद्वद्भ्यः अनुदानप्रदानम्, पाण्डुलिपीनां डिजिटल माध्यमे स्थापनाय ज्ञानभारतं मिशन् इत्यादीनि सन्ति। एतेन अगणिताः छात्राः शोधार्थिनः च लाभान्विताः जाताः।”

PM lauds all the medical professionals from India who are tirelessly working in Venezuela as a part of Operation Amistad

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today extended his greetings to doctors across the country on the occasion of National Doctors' Day, expressing gratitude for their unwavering service, compassion and commitment towards the nation.

Shri Modi said that the hard work, compassion and dedication of doctors form the backbone of India's healthcare system. He noted that their tireless efforts, often in the most challenging circumstances, have earned the trust and gratitude of countless people across the country.

Highlighting the progress made in the healthcare sector over the past decade, the Prime Minister said that India has made significant strides in strengthening its healthcare ecosystem. He observed that the number of medical colleges in the country has more than doubled, while undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats have expanded substantially. He said that this unprecedented growth is creating greater opportunities for aspiring doctors, strengthening the healthcare workforce and ensuring that quality medical care reaches every corner of the country.

Shri Modi also appreciated the dedication of Indian doctors and medical professionals serving in Venezuela as part of Operation Amistad. He said that, in challenging times, their selfless service demonstrates how healthcare professionals consistently rise to the occasion whenever society faces adversity.
